Today me and Natalie were actually gonna bake our own wedding cake as we figured it would be fun and if it didn't work we would just order one.
All the other catering was being done professionally as who trusts our cooking? Not us anyway.
We were going to build three parts to the cake a large part a medium sized part and a small part.
We started by making a shit ton of cake mix to do all three of the cake sections.
We decided to use an electric mixer instead of doing it by hand as it would speed things up a little.
We cracked 3 eggs into a large mixing bowl with caster sugar and started up the electric mixers.
Me and Natalie both had a bowl each so it would make double the amount of mixer so we might even have a little extra to bake something else.
When we were doing mixing the mixture we greased a large baking tin and lay the mixture out on greaseproof paper over the baking tin and then put the mixture in to cook.
Whilst we were waiting on the cake sections cooking we listened to some Troye Sivan and other artists while it cooked.
When the timer went off we rushed and got oven gloves before we both put them on and oven the hot oven but moved our heads away from the oven to avoid the hot air hitting our faces. We then lifted the two hot oven trays out and put them on a cooking tray to cool down before peeling the grease proof paper off.
Natalie started the dishes as I set the cake sections out ready to be decorated.
Once Natalie finished the dishes and put them back away in the cupboards I set out piping bags and a few palette knives to spread the icing.
We also had a big bowl of icing and just used the piping bags to do small details on.
We needed up decorating the cake in all white icing with little drape (curtain) like details along the bottom on each layer of cake.
