"Tyler I swear to god could you drive any slower?" I whine as my bestfriend goes under the speed limit.

"Yes I can if you want."

"Oh please no." I say taking out my phone. We were on our way to meet Tyler's friends Josh and Ashley, and we were gonna move in with them. I haven't met Ashley yet. And Tyler hasn't met Josh in person yet. They live in a house near a beach so we thought why not. We hated our shitty apartment anyways.

And when Josh invited us to move in with him, Tyler didn't think twice. A day later we were out of our suck ass apartment and on the road to California.

I don't know who Ashley is, but I'm told that she's pretty and my "type". Whatever that means.

The fact that Tyler has a crush on Josh (even though he won't admit it) is funny. Like he hasn't even met him in person and he took up the offer.

But I'm not complaining, a nice two story house by the beach? Count me in.

"So when are we arriving at your boyfriends house?" I say looking outside at the beautiful beach.

"Okay he is not my boyfriend and we're like 5 minutes away." Tyler says rolling his eyes.

"Well you seem to like him."

"Melanie shut up I don't like him." Tyler says. He's totally blushing.

"It's okay best friend. Your secrets safe with me." I say teasing him.

He scowls and doesn't say anything. After a few minutes, we finally arrive at a really nice house.

"Well this is nice. You got yourself a good sugar daddy." I say teasing him.

"Shut up! He is not a sugar daddy! We're friends that met online and decided to move in with eachother!" Tyler says a little too loud. And I say this because a guy which I'm assuming is Josh,was already waiting outside and heard the whole thing.

"Thanks a lot Melanie." Tyler says embarrassed.

"Your welcome." I say cheerfully. We open the car doors and get out.

"Finally I get to meet you TyJo!" Josh says grabbing Tyler and giving him a big hug. I can see Tyler blushing hard and I make a face at him. He immediately gives me the death glare and I stop.

"And you must be Melanie. Wow your cute. And short." Josh says laughing and sticking his hand out for me to shake it. "Ashley's inside. Hold on I'll get her for you." Josh says going inside for a moment.

Suddenly, all I hear is Josh's voice yelling really loud.

"ASHLEY GET YOUR MERMAID LOOKING SELF DOWN HERE NOW!"

I can't help but laugh. This guy is hilarious. I look at Tyler and grin.

"You got yourself a keeper." I say.

He rolls his eyes but can't help but laugh. Josh comes out and behind him is a beautiful girl with long mermaid-like blue hair. She was wearing a black SnapBack and was sucking on an orange lollipop. She was stunning.

"Ashley, This is Melanie." Josh says introducing us.

"Hey Roomie. Nice to meet you." She says in a sweet voice. Jesus Christ this girl was beautiful.

"So this house may look big from the outside but in reality it's not that big. We have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a game room, a dining room, and a pretty big kitchen." Josh explains.

"Uh, that's still big, other than the fact that it only has two bedrooms." I say looking at him.

"She's right. Well who's in who's room?" Tyler asks casually.

"Easy. Melanie in Ashley's room, Tyler in my room." Josh says smiling.

"I'm down with that." Ashley says smiling at me. I can't help but die a little inside.

"We'll help you unpack." Josh says heading towards Tyler's car. After we bring everything inside, I make my way to Ashley's room with my stuff.

"Make yourself at home." She says. I admire her room. Posters and Vinyls hung on her wall. Led lights were spread across the walls. She had a small balcony with two chairs outside and a small table with an ashtray. The view was incredible from here.

"Wow you have a really nice room." I say placing my stuff down.

"Haha thanks." She says helping me unpack. After we finish I look at the view.

"Wow that is really beautiful Ashley." I say admiring outside.

"Yeah, and I leave the window open at night so I can hear the sounds of the ocean. It's just so calming. I'll show you tonight." She says standing next to me.

"Let's go see what Josh and Tyler are up too." I say with a grin.

"Oh my god I'm glad they finally met. Cause it was always Tyler this and Tyler that." Ashley laughs.

"Right! I ship it."

"Same. Let's go see if they're making out." Ashley says as we walk it if the room. We sneak to their room and press our ears against the door.

We don't hear anything, so we decide to open the door.

"Hey gu-woah." Ashley and I stop in our tracks to find Josh on top of Tyler. Looks like they were busy.

"Have you ever heard of knocking?" Tyler says getting up.

I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing.

"Ashley I told you to stop coming in my room like that." Josh says angrily.

"Well I didn't know you'd be sucking Tyler's face off or whatever you were doing." Ashley says trying to keep a smile from escaping her lips.

"Well why don't you go eat out Melanie or something." Josh retorts.

"Okay I'm gonna leave now." I say quickly leaving the room. God that was embarrassing. I find my way downstairs and into the kitchen. I wanted a glass of water, but I couldn't seem to find the cups. I suddenly find the cupboard but of course, I'm too short to reach it. I get on the counter and as I try to get the cup. I feel myself slipping off the counter. I feel a pair of hands behind me and guide me back onto the floor.

"You know you could of just asked me." I hear Ashley say. I turn around and she's really close to me.

"Yeah. Sorry. Didn't wanna bother you." I say my face getting warm.

"You wouldn't be a bother." She says getting a cup and handing it to me.

"I'm sorry I just got really embarrassed when Josh said.. what he said." I say biting my lip.

"It's fine. He was kidding anyways." She says going to the fridge and opening it.

"Want some chocolate milk?" She asks taking out some milk and chocolate powder.

"I just wanted some water. But thanks."

"Well you should try it anyways. I make it good." She says placing the stuff onto the island.

"Okay I'll try it then." I say walking over to her. She mixes it up and hands me my cup. I take a sip and it was great.

"Wow this is probably the best chocolate milk I've had in a long time." I laugh.

"Thanks. I try." She says smiling at me."Wanna sit outside? I wanna get to know you." She says putting the milk and chocolate powder away.

"Yeah that sounds good." I say placing my cup down.

"Alright." Ashley says grabbing my hand and leading me to the balcony near the living room. We sit down and she lights me a cigarette.

I smile at her and she sucks her lip in.

"Well, I'm Ashley Frangipane."
