Chapter Two - Protection

The next morning you awoke to the sound of your alarm clock, you got ready and was just about to leave before you heard a violent knock at your door. "______" "_______", You could hear a deep voice shouting your name. You quickly opened the door to see Gareki with a worried expression on his face. "Wha-"

"Have you seen Nai." He caught his breath. "I can't find him anywhere!"

"No, I haven't even left my room yet, have you asked anybody else?"

"Yes, I've asked everybody, I thought he might have been with you, they're sending some people to look for him now."

"I'll look too." You came out of your room and locked the door with your magic.

"Let's go." The two of you ran to the exit of the ship where you met up with Yogi, Tsukumo  and Hirato. Yogi picked up Gareki in his arms "Hey! what are you doing!"

"You can't fly, you'll hurt yourself if you jump down Gareki-san." Yogi smiled sweetly. 

"Tch." Gareki muttered. 

"Let's go everyone" Tsukumo yelled. Everyone jumped and flew out of the ship at once with Hirato leading the way. You glanced at Yogi and Gareki and soflty chuckled before turning back and searching for Nai. After what seemed like hours of searching, Hiarto finally found some vargua. 

"Everyone, attack!" He commanded. You swooped down and dodged thorns that were growing towards you, cutting them off with your light infused sword. "Yogi, ____, you slice the way through."

"Roger!" You shouted in unison. The golden haired boy and yourself began chopping and slicing at a terriffc speed through the thick thorns. 

"Light Blade!" You commanded, your sword began to glitter and you swung it towards the thorns, a bright beam of light escaping from your sword sliced a large number of thorns effortlessly. Yogi also used some of his magic to obliterate a mass of them. Finally, you both cut your way through to find two men who had plants and thorns growing out if their bodies. Varuga. 

"Two circus members, how exciting, especially when one of them is cute." The man turned  his gaze to you. You saw Yogi grit his teeth.

"Do you have one of our members with you?" Yogi said frustratedly.

"What? you mean this kid?" One of the men pointed to a boy who was wrapped up in viens and thorns. It was Nai. You glanced at Gareki who had already began loading a gun. "we have to do something" you thought. "But how?"

"_______ and Gareki, you focus on getting Nai out of those thorns, Tsukumo and Yogi, we'll defeat these varuga."  Hirato commanded as everyone got into position. Yogi, Hirato and Tsukumo flew towards the vargua. You felt Gareki grab your wrist and ran with you towards Nai. You made a dagger appear and began cutting away at the thorns, throwing another one to Gareki. You got through a few layers, but it wasn't fast enough. 

"________ DUCK NOW!" Gareki shouted, you did as you were told as he fired his gun behind you rapidly. You carried on cutting the thorns around Nai in your crouched position. You heard screams from behind you as Gareki's gun fired more and more bullets. Finally, when he had stopped firing, you turned around as you knew the vargua wouldn't be completley dead. "What are you doing!?" He said with concern in his voice. 

You closed your eyes while summoing up enough power. "Light nebula!" you shouted. Beams of golden light burst out of your hands and hit the varuga directly casusing it to explode and vanish. You felt your legs give way and you fell down, you had used nearly all your energy in this mission and felt very weak. Before you fell to the ground, you were caught in a pair of warm, strong arms. Because the varuga was dead, the thorns and vines unwinded from Nai and disappeared. Nai ran towards you. 

"Is _____ okay?" He said with tears in his eyes.

"She's fine, she just used a little too much energy." Gareki said as he looked down into your exhausted eyes. The others came to join you. 

"Well done everyone, Gareki, I'll carry _____ while Yogi carries you and Tsukumo carries Nai, Let's go back to the ship." Hirato said imperitivley. Gareki reluctantly handed you over to the dark haired man while being swooped up by yogi.

"Let's go home Gareki-san, and...when we get back, will you take ______ to her room and stay with her? she needs to rest but she could awaken and become confused."

"Yeah, I don't mind." 

"Thank you Gareki-san." Yogi smiled sweetly.
