DR. ALEX STORM

I love my job. I really do. Despite the endless screaming and tantrums from patients all throughout the ward, I do love my job. I mean, I wouldn't have went through 5 years of schooling if I didn't think I was going to enjoy it. I am a Psychotherapist and Doctor at Millwood Asylum, where patients with all types of mental illnesses stay to get treatment and possible leave, or even, possible die.

Unfortunately, some patients don't ever end up leaving the asylum. Some just aren't in the right state to actually go back out into the real world, and some actually just kill themselves somehow during their stay. We try to keep away anything that could potentially harm the patients or that could bring death but somehow they just find ways.

I work with all different types of patients, from ones with mild cases to ones with extreme cases. I actually prefer more extreme cases, just because they are more interesting to me and give me sort of a thrill. I mainly only work with one or two patients at a time, depending on the type or level of their illness. I just enjoyed the fact that I can try to help people with mental illness potentially get better or help them cope. I liked teaching and just making the lives of people better. That is why I love my job.

My most recent case was an older man with bipolar disorder and it was pretty rough. He also had Alzheimer's so every time I walked into his room, it'd be like him having to re-meet me over and over again. I was able to thankfully help him increase his coping skills and kind of help him control his bipolar disorder better and in a way that he wouldn't cause harm to himself or others along the way. He was able to be released two days ago, and now it's Tuesday, December 3rd and I am looking for a new patient to look after.

That is up to my boss and he will assign me my next one as soon as I get to work. I looked at the digital time shown on the touch screen in my pitch black Range Rover: 7:23 AM. I had to be at work by 7:30 so I was just about to be right on time.

I made my way into the clinic and immediately was greeted by the secretaries. The female ones. I'm not going to be cocky, but I know that females do find me attractive but I strictly do not let it interfere with my work. My job is too valuable to lose and I couldn't imagine not having it anymore. I'm treated very well here and I am in a very high position that I cannot afford losing at this point. Not to mention the pay is very good to me. Very good.

"Good morning, Dr. Storm," the one with curly brown hair purred.

Veronica. I inwardly groaned as I knew that she tried to hit on me often. I replied to the girls with a firm, "morning," and went onto what I had to do. I was very professional when it came to my job and I can assure that I always know what I am doing.

I walked into my office and held up my jacket onto the hook, getting ready for the day ahead. My boss walked in just in time for me to ask him what my move was.
