Pack gathered the two weeks after the incident with Hayley. People I've never seen before shown up. Both friendly and unfriendly faces stared at me, and when they scented that I was pregnant their eyes focused on my profusely curved belly.

Once again I faced people who had mixed emotions, disgust, anger, excitement, even a few who were.... turned on.

The night before Graham explained to me how pack Howls worked. Every member of his entire pack, no matter where they were located had to come. There were very few situations that would be overlooked if they didn't show.

Pack Howls normally consisted of fights for ranks, changing of the pack laws, mate hunts, and just family gatherings. The way he explained them made them sound exciting but I was being kept on careful watch.

Graham hadn't left my side since the incident.

A bulky muscular man approached us. He made eye contact with Graham as he moved to stand in front of me as the stronger approached.

"What is this Alpha?" His gaze never dropped from Grahams.
"She's not our kind." Graham grunted as the stranger spoke.

Straightening his back he lifted his head, and using the alpha voice commanded his pack to listen.

"Who I mate with, will be none of your concern. With her bloodline will come strong pups, those with wolf blood so strong they will be incredible Alphas. Our lines are slowly being tainted by humans. And while we hardly see the animal shifters, when we do we see strength and a fierceness not witnessed before. If anyone questions my word, One more time! I will rip their throat out and feed it to the coyotes!" His fierce snarl rang through the clearing I had fought Hayley in the previous day.

Graham took me by the arm and dragged me in front of him so he could lay his hands on my belly. I stiffened, uncomfortable with all the stares I received. Being in this form meant I didn't have an advantage at protecting myself and the pup growing all warm and safe in my womb.

"My blood runs in this child. Listen and you will here his heart beat strongly like the warrior he will become. Already he has been through so much, but yet he holds on." I pulled away from Graham.

"The baby would never have been in any trouble if your pack never herded me away from my home." I spoke softly only to him.

"There would be no child growing in you if I had not. And what then? You would have starved, as weak as you had been out there."

He reached down and grasped my hand bringing up to his lips. My stomach twisted with anxiety at the growing crowd around us.

The muscular man took a step closer just as Zachary pushed through the crowd and shoved the older man.

The beta bared his teeth at the man. "You just never know when to stop David. Back down before you face a challenge old man." Zachary stood almost a head taller than David.

David spat at Zachary but dropped his gaze. I stayed tense however. It felt like the old man gave up a little too easy.

Graham spun me around to face him, and then he did something that put my heart in my throat and made me want to stretch my wolf self in delight.

Dropping to his knees he was eye level with my belly. With a strong voice he spoke out to the pack.
"Mine is yours ,yours is mine..... that what which we hold dearest is ours to protect. I expect all of you to protect this small little life and his special maker, this unique little wolf named Timber who is my True Mate."
He pulled up my shirt to expose the soft curves of a progressing pregnancy and rubbed his cheeks against my belly, scent marking my child and I for those around us.
