Which Path Do I Choose

Oh, bright star in my sky,

You who has always been there,

Point me where I should go.

Should I take the familiar route?

The route I so often take?

Full of cowardice and regret,

Whose end I know as sure as its start.

Or should I take the other?

The one I have been on just once,

And never wanted to take again.

The path whose end is so unclear,

But must surely have a dreadful end,

Even if all is returned unto me.

Oh, bright star in my sky,

You who have always been there,

Point me where I should go.

Neither path I wish to choose,

Yet, I still must pick one.

Both, I fear, hold great anguish.

The route I know leads to remorse.

The route I know not leads to two places:

Either the key to my soul's eternal jubilance.

Or to the depths of heartbreak and despair.

So, great beacon of the night,

Which path do I choose?
