Chapter 19

I walked over to Zach as he was wrapping up a conversation with Brendan. Brendan looked concerned as he saw Zach put his arm around me. I didn't have time to question Brendan by the time Zach pulled me aside.
"What does Makayla want her first date to be?" Zach said putting his finger under my chin and tilting my head up to meet his eyes.
"I'd have to say Makayla would love some dinner and a movie."
I smiled at Zach as we shared this moment.
Amy walked up as I finished my sentence, right before Zach could reply, she said that Luke and her would love to join us. I had always wanted to go on a double date, so I was all for it.
Zach looked like he faked a smile and said, " Why not? The more the merrier!"

--------------3 days later-------------

Time came for the date and Amy and I had gotten ready together making sure we looked just right for our dates.
Luke and Zach came to the door oddly quiet. Neither of them were smiling until they saw us. Luke quickly complimented me before going on about how Amy looked. I agreed, Luke did an amazing job of making Amy feel beautiful, though she never needed it. She was beautiful all by herself.
Zach complimented me and took my hand to lead me to his car. The boys wanted us to ride in their cars to get the full effect.

Once we arrived at the diner we had all agreed on we made our way inside to get a table. As we sat down we were asked what drinks we wanted then the waitress disappeared, she was no Wendy. After some light small talk Amy and I went to the rest room to talk about Zach and Luke. Amy walked into the rest room and immediately pulled out her phone. I asked her what she so desperately needed to text someone about and she told me her mom wanted to know where we had decided to eat and if she was having fun. After she replied we talked for a few minutes where Amy basically repeated the speech Luke gave me after the concert a few days before. I told her I would be fine and that I trust Zach. She said we should head back as she pushed the bathroom door open. We started on our path back to the table.

Calum was standing next to the table talking to Luke and talking at Zach. I froze. Amy stopped and followed my gaze, she looked down at her phone and grabbed my hand. Amy lead me over to the table and sat me down next to her. Calum looked at me like I was a different person. I tried to talk but words wouldn't escape my mouth.
"So why are you here?" Zach asked very bluntly.
"Because, I uh.. Came to eat and saw my mate! I want to eat with him. Would you guys mind if I intrude on your dinner?"
"Sure! You can join us Cal!" Amy responded before anyone else could. Calum sat down next to Zach. This was about to be a night I would never forget.
