Author's Note:
Beware, this is the worst piece of writing I've ever done. I just wanted to get Split Daina's origin story (?) out there for my Tumblr ask blog (@ask-splitdaina). Soooo--- this was obviously rushed. xD Ah well.

It was his fault she was this way now.
All his f a u l t.
If he hadn't insisted that they go to the woods, she wouldn't be in this mess. She thought he loved her! Why would he do this?!
Now she was stuck here in the middle of nowhere, staring at the shadowy black fox-like figure with glowing red eyes in front of her.
Daina's ears flatten against her head as she stares at it, her body rigid and her tail curling around her waist protectively. The creature's whispers in her head made her feel uneasy.
"...DEX!" She nearly screams, not moving. The creature didn't seem stunned by her sudden yell. Was it deaf? Whether it was or not, that didn't matter. Dex was nowhere around.
The creature lunges at her, hissing, causing Daina to jump back in surprise, nearly tripping. She was lucky she didn't, and began to hyperventilate a bit. No, calm down- she tells herself, putting a hand over her heart. She felt... odd. Sick, kind of, but not really. It was like a headache behind her right eye.
She runs. She doesn't look back, she just runs away. Away from the creature, away from the clearing, shouting Dex's name the whole time. There was no way out, but Daina didn't know that. She wasn't aware of the creature following her, not until the whispering began again.
It was then that she began to feel the skin around her eye being cut open, like a knife was being dragged from her eye to the flesh around it. The only thing is that the cuts didn't bleed. They glowed, but Daina could just barely see it. Her left eye was fine, and she could barely detect the soft light from the right side of her face. However, her right eye's vision was... different. Like an infrared camera. Daina didn't pay attention to that, though; she could only focus on the growing pain in her eye and hands. She couldn't take it anymore, she was slipping, she could feel it...

She'd passed out.
Daina didn't know how long she'd been out, but she did know one thing. She felt a lot different. The pain behind her eyes was still there, but it was just a dull ache. Her hands hurt, and she found that her fingernails had elongated into long, sharp claws. ... Freaky... But her way of thinking was different. She felt... disconnected. Like her head wasn't screwed on straight. But she knew that she wanted to find Dex and... and kill him. He had done this to her, it was his fault. He deserved it.
Not even caring that her jacket was gone and her shirt was untied, Daina stands up and examines her surroundings, looking for any sign of movement. She saw nothing, but she would find something. She would find him, and she would get rid of him.
