KIEFER'S POV
Kararating ko lang sa Ateneo, and luckily nakita ko agad siya na naglalakad papuntang gym, I guess.
"Den,"
Nalingon niya agad ako, her eyes were widened na para bang nakakita siya ng multo.
"What's wrong? Mukha na ba akong multo?" I joked but it seems like she was really shocked to see me.
"Kanina ka pa ba?" she nervously asked.
Napakunot naman ang noo ko.
"Kararating ko lang. Bakit?"
I saw how relieved she was. Almost seems like she's hiding something from me.
"Ahh. So what brought you here?"
Mas lalo akong nagtaka sa tinanong niya.
"Maglalunch kasama ka,"
"I would love to pero tapos na kong maglunch eh,"
Tuluyan na kong napakunot ng noo.
"Talaga? But I texted you kanina. You even replied 'Okay'"
She looked at me in confusion.
"Don't tell me you're not the one who replied?"
After a moment of confusion, she suddenly laughed which made me feel confused even more because I know she's faking it. She's faking her laugh. And this is not her.
I know she's hiding something.
"Yeah I remembered it na. Sorry ha? Nagutom na kasi ako kasi naparusahan kami ni Coach Thai kanina,"
I looked at her in the eye. I know she's nervous. I know she's lying somehow. And it's bothering me big time.
"Ah ganun ba. Sige, I'll say hi nalang to your team mates before I leave,"
"Okay," she replied before walking first.
I stared at her back, still with confusion.
What could you possibly be hiding to me Denisse?
Nadatnan naming nag-iinat ang karamihan sa kanila. Obviously kagigising lang nila. Looks like Denisse was telling the truth, but still..
"Oh Kuya Kief, did you missed us already?" Asked Jia who's currently yawning.
"Oo eh. Naglunch na ba kayo?"
I asked as I grab the volleyball and shoot it on the ring.
It didn't even reached the ring.
"Hindi pa. Bakit? Ililibre mo kami?" asked Maddie who looked like her ears wants to clap.
"Ha? Sinong manlilibre?" -Jules.
Uh oh.
"Manlilibre ka Kuya?"- Gizzle.
"Guys libre daw ni Kief ang lunch!" -Ella.
"Yes! Tipid sa allowance!"-Deanna.
"Don't worry Kuys! We all are on a diet. Right guys?"-Jaimie.
"Accurate!" they all said in unison.
Napailing nalang ako.
Sila na siguro ang pinakamakukulit na athletes na nakilala ko, bukod sa team mates ko.
"Alright then. The last one to be at Ally's will get the least meal,"
And just like that, the gym was occupied by the deafening silence.
I saw Denisse on the corner, busy with her phone.
Lumapit ako sa kanya and right when she saw me, she immediately hide her phone behind her back.
"Ginulat mo naman ako. Where's the girls?"
Ganun ba kahalaga yung katext niya para hindi niya mapansin na sobrang ingay at nagkakagulong lumabas yung mga team mates niya?
"They're heading at Ally's for lunch," I answered.
"Ganun ba? Let's go then. Gutom na din ako eh," she said while fixing her things.
I thought kumain ka na ng lunch? Then why are you still hungry? Did you even ate lunch? Were you telling the truth?
As much as I want to ask her these damn questions on my mind, I just can't. I'm too scared to know the truth. Too scared that it might hurt.
"Okay,"

Days had passed, I noticed how Denisse has been always busy with her phone. If she wasn't texting, she's always talking to someone which she will say "It's just my cousins" even though I'm not asking.
But not this day.
She asked me to go out with her. Who am I to refuse?
So yeah, we're here at the top of the Ferris wheel in Tagaytay.
"So, how's your cousins?"
I asked breaking the silence. Hindi ko naman hahayaang mauwi ang lahat sa walang-magsasalita-hanggang-makauwi thingy.
Nagkibit-balikat siya bago sumagot.
"They're fine, why did you ask?" she looked at me with confusion.
"Wala lang. Napapansin ko kasi na madalas ata silang tumatawag sayo. They must really missed you,"
She avoided my gaze before sighing.
Silence. Crap.
"Kiefer, the reason why I invited you out is because.."
She looked at me and I did the same.
I felt her warm hand slowly interwining with mine. I was shocked. I wasn't even prepared for this. My chest is having a party right now and if a human could only melt by just looking in someone's eyes, I might probably turn into a liquid form right now.
"Gosh. I don't even know how to say this,"
She was panicking and it's cute.
I held her cheeks with my right hand and made her looked at me.
"Just say it with your heart," I whispered.
She closed her eyes for a second and when she opened it, she was staring at me as if I'm the one.
"Sinasagot na kita,"
I can't help my self to hug her tight just to made her feel how happy I am right now.
I burried my face on her shoulder just so I can hide my tears. Tears of joy.
She patted my back.
"It's not obvious that you're crying Ravena. My shirt is already wet," she said while laughing softly.
I parted my self from her while laughing and crying, and it's only possible for a person who gets too overwhelmed, like me to be exact.
I placed both of my hands on her cheeks and looked at her in the eye.
"I love you Denisse,"
She smiled at me not showing her teeth and she's so gorgeous by just doing that.
She hugged me so tight before whispering "I love you too,"
We ended the night by sharing a short yet full of love kiss.
Everything is just so perfect.
