In Your Arms Again

-Chapter 8-

Erick's POV

After I dropped Stella on her house, I texted Brook and asked him to meet me. And, here we are in his club.

I don't know what's got into me and I did the most impossible thing in my life. Having sex with a virgin? And the worst part is she's a Pastor's daughter. I didn't meant any harm to her, but, I should have respected her in the first place, Goddamn it!

"That's.. Very weird bro. You didn't think of the woman you've had sex after you guy's did it, but, here you are acting so weird." I glared at him. I'm not the kind of person who loves to screw all the women.
"I mean, Stella is different. I know, there's something in you guy's. Can you just court her or what?"

I drink my remaining beer and ordered again. I really wanted to court her properly. She deserves that. But, fuck! My parents is in the middle of merging  their company to the Alferiz Hotels. They don't want any destruction for me, not a woman. Not Stella.

"They're passing the company on me." I said casually. Brook shake his head indicating that he knows what I mean.

"They're really are the 'best parents', aren't they?"

I can't just walked away with Stella, I can't do that. But, I can't run from my parents shit, either. From the time I got a mind on my own, I always want them to be proud of me. This is my chance of proving myself to them.

But, I can't give up Stella. Not this time. I feel like I'm fallen for her every time I saw her smiling and laughing and she don't know what's her effect on me.

"I want to make them proud of me Brook. I want to prove that I can do this." Then, I drink my whiskey straight. Brook made a face before sipping on his own drink.

"Even if it means you are under their control?"

"That one, tho."

"Well, good luck. I hope you could go through this, but, I know you will. Knowing you?"

"Thanks brother."

Brook's always been there for me. He is my closest cousin of all, not that I had very much. He's more on a brother to me. More than my own brother, Stephen.

He's in Italy right now for some business. He already proved himself to our parents. He already even established his own name for his hard work. I don't want to admit that I always looked up to him.

Brook walked to one of his worker on his club to talk about something and then, returns to our table.

"I need to go, bro."

"Where to?" I get up too and checked my phone.

"To Nikki."

"You're going back there?"

We are walking to our cars when my phone ring. I looked at Brook and he waved bye, I just nod at him. I picked it up not looking whose calling. I know who it is.

"Yes" I said with out any emotion in my voice.

'Where are you?'

"I'm on my way." Then I hung up.

When I get inside of the house they stop talking and looked at me. They always talked about business. What are they? A fucking business partner? Why don't they act like a lovebirds too.

"Your drunk." My dad said. He's voice is full of power and authority.

"Non sono sir. Just a couple of shots."
I said with out looking at him in the eyes.

"I gave you time to think about this Erick. Now I'm done! You are taking over the company." He shut his eyes forcedly and hold onto his chest.

I panicked and went to him faster. With the help of my Mom we help him sat down.

"Erick.. This is one of the reason why your father wants you to take over the company. No one can do this Erick."

"What? Is he sick? And what about Stephen?"

"He's busy in Italy. Your father is very tired Erick. He's already old."

"Rendimi fiero, Erick. Confido in Te."

I raked my hands on my hair. This is frustrating. Very frustrating.

"Let's talk about this tomorrow, Mom."

She nod and we help Dad to their room. I went to my own room after. I miss sleeping in this house. I've been staying in my condominium for a year now.

I can't fail Dad. I'll talk to Stella tomorrow. I want her to know that I'll be gone for a few days and that I am handling something big. She deserved to know.

I groan in frustration. Until I drifted to sleep.

I woke up early to exercise. I run for about an hour and swim to the pool.
After I went to my room and get dressed, I went downstairs only to find my mother doing breakfast. I kissed her in the cheeks.

"Where's Dad?"

"He's upstairs preparing. Can you convince your father to pay a visit to his doctor,son?"

I nod and just looked at my mom doing stuff. I sat there sipping my coffee. When my phone vibrated. My smile went wide and my heart beat faster. I'm like a fucking teenager.

'Good morning'

'Good morning, bella. Can we talk later?'

I can't wait to see her.

'I'll tell you if I'm free later. I need to go to school. Something important.'

I smiled. She's very cute even when texting.

'No problem. Take care.'

After I send it I shove my phone back to my pocket. My father with the help of his personal nurse came down the stairs. I didn't know he has a personal nurse. I help him sat down and my mother help him with his food.

Nobody speaks while we're eating. But, after we finished our food my Dad began to talk.

"Next week will be the merging celebration. That will be the best time to announce to everyone that you will taking over as the new CEO."
Even when he looks old he always have the presence that you couldn't ignore.

"So, you have to go with me in all of my meetings so that you will get familiar in everything. Starting today."

I nod at him. Maybe I should message Stella about this.

After I get dressed, again, we headed to the driveway where two cars are waiting. I began to walk to my Ferrari when my father talked.

"What are you doing? Leave your car and ride with me. I don't want you out of my sight and go driving on your car."

I stared at him frowning while he settled in the backseat of his car. This is impossible, I never leave my car. Just now.

I settled in the car beside my Dad. I glared at him and he glared back. God!
