A Haven Destroyed

"Please leave the kids alone!" shouted Tamon as she witnessed her two little boys being taken away by the Emperors goons. "Shut up lady the mines need new workers and you have two strapping young men here" laughed a guard as he held a kicking and screaming Koda . "Let me down you filthy animal!" Koda yelped as he thrashed about in the guards arms. "Please the mines are so poisonous they will not survive!" "Take me instead!" Tamon pleaded. "The mines have no use for a washed up hag like you now shut your mouth or your kids wont live to see the mines." As the door slammed all Koda heard was his crying mothers voice scream "Koda protect your brother Ill save you i promise." Koda looked over to see  his brother ,Jordan, being thrashed around on a guards shoulders who looked back and they both with the idea of rebellion in their minds decided to attempt an escape. With a swift movement Jordan went after the guards ear biting the lope off it as Koda was able to hop off his holders shoulder and take a small knife from the guards waste band on his way down. "you worthless runt ill slaughter you!" yelled the guard as his ear bled vigorously. The guard rushed Jordan but was stopped by Koda who managed to jab the blade in the knee of the guard, he fell hard to the ground screaming in pain. The only thought that processed in the boys minds was their mother so they broke away from encroaching guards and sprinted back to what was before their haven. "mom run we got away hurry!" shouted Koda as he kicked the door open to an unnaturally quiet house. The boys stood their in shock as what they see in front of them is too gruesome to comprehend. Their mother had been mutilated sliced multiple times with a rapier and beaten to a bloody pulp. Koda couldn't even shed a tear before the hilt of a sword smacked him and his brother in the back of the head leaving them both unconscious.

Koda awoke what seemed like days later in the back of a carriage bound to the seat by tied ropes. He looked around dazed wondering where his brother was.Jordan! no response. Jordan!. still no answer. He looked around the carriage and saw no sign of his brother just multiple men who along with himself have been captured for mine work. "Hey kid". Koda looked around to realize a man of about thirty was speaking towards him. "yes sir, have you seen my brother?" "Yes he was just handed over to the guards for attempting a revolt he is being sent to the inner depths of the corrosive mine." "The corrosive mines?!?! He will surely die!" "sorry for your loss kid lets pray you do not succumb to the same fate. Koda sat their his mind in peril over what events had just occurred. His eyes seemed to dilate with a dark pitch of green as he felt his soul and remorse sail away from his body.
