Kathryn's P.O.V

"Kathryn! Wait up!" I turn to see my best friend running up to me whilst trying to put his books in his bag.

"Oh hey, Charlie" I greet, walking beside him.

"Hey. I've got a free period next , so I was wondering if you'd like to head out for something to eat?" He asked, closing his bag.

"Lucky for you, I've got a free period next too aand I'm famished" I chuckled, looking up at him. He seemed to just be looking at me for a while, taking in my features, before he blinked and a smile appeared on his face.

"So, where to?"

We ended up eating at FiveGuys and taking a stroll through the park. All we did was just talk and if I'm being totally honest it was really nice, just me and him. Although it seemed like he was a little distracted at times, fading into a daze whenever he turned to look at me it was nice.

"I guess I'll see ya tomorrow?" I checked, taking my seatbelt off.

"Yep" he said nodding, "8am sharp"

I smiled at him and reached for the door handle but was stopped in my tracks,

"Hey um, Kathryn, by the way you looked really pretty today- Well I thought so- I mean not that you don't every othe-"

"-Thanks" I got out of the car and headed towards my front door. When I slipped the key in I turned to wave him off.

Charlie's P.O.V

I watched as Kathryn shut the door behind her and I set my head on the steering wheel as soon as I was sure she was inside.

"For god's sake Charlie! Just man up and tell her" I told myself exhaling deeply.

"Who am I kidding" I said to no one in particular and turned the ignition on and started the short drive home.

MORNING

"Bye, gotta go!" I rushed out, grabbing a slice of toast from the kitchen counter. I hopped in the car, done my seatbelt and checked the digital clock on the dashboard which read 07:53.

When I finally arrived outside Kathryn's house she was already standing in the porch with her arms crossed.

"3 minutes late Otto" she stated getting in. I rolled my eyes at the use of my middle name.

"Unless you wanna walk it's Charlie to you"

"Hehe, you love me too much to make me walk in this wind" She chuckled looking all smug and I just let a smile crack at the side. If only she knew.

Despite my lateness we got to school in time for first period, mine being Chemistry and Kathryn's being Biology.

"So.." My lab partner and close friend, Sean said.

"So..?" I asked already knowing the answer.

"Soo.. What's the deal between you and Kathryn?"

"Nothing Sean we're just friends and only friends. Now pass me the Lithium would ya" I said lining the Conical Flask with the Bunsen.
