I'M SO SO SO SORRY!!!!

I've recently been real busy! I haven't really had time to write, and I'm sadly facing writers block. But, here goes chapter 4 of Dead End. I hope you enjoy!! And tell me what you think!!!

This is dedicated to lbur16 because she's very supportive, and always there!!! So, thanks to the the wonderful, lbur16!!!!!!!

[Jordan's POV]

Listening to the mixture of noises on the bus, I wonder why I continue through this hell. Why do you fight Jordan? What prevents you from leaving yourself as just another meal for the zombies? Why do you defend this group of people you've recently come attached to? Do you expect a trophy? Or maybe a medal?

The questions fly through my brain crashing into my cranium influencing an unbearable headache. I'm starting to think that I'm only doing this for my sister. If I don't dedicate myself to survive, I'm not sure how she would live without me. But then, I realize I do this to sustain my sanity also. If I weren't focusing on my goal to live, I believe I'd die from depression. I'd probably writher up in my bed from all the pressure, and just stay there enclosed in my sadness.

That's when I realize I do this for me, I'm just trying to stay alive. Even if that means taking care of these people, and they don't have an award for that. I, don't need an award for that! If this is what I have to do to keep my sanity and more importantly Jade, I'll do this forever.

I rise from my seat staring out the window. Apparently we'd been traveling for two days now. Looking at the stars, I look for inspiration or someone to tell me what I aspire in life. My mom always told me and Jade to pray, but we rarely went to church. They were always working on most Sundays, as well as every other day of the week. But somehow I've found myself on my knees of the bus. I guess I'll try praying.

Dear God, if you're even there,

I'm looking for the answer to these questions and I know you know everything. So, I was wondering could you like guide me or give me some kind of clue of how to get through all this confusion. I know I may not pray all the time, and I'm sorry. But, I really need some help so thanks.

In Jesus' name I pray, amen!

I think that's the way Mom told me to end a prayer. I just need some answers. But in the meantime I'll settle for Jade and my sanity. Unlike a race, I don't have to wait till the end to get my medallion and my trophy.

[Jade POV]

The chills of the night flow through the window of the bus waking me just in time! I jump awake right before the zombies attack my mom.

"Hey, are you alright?" Nick asks me.

"Um, yeah," I reply, "Just a little chilly that's all."

"Here," he says wiggling off his leather jacket.

"Oh, I'm fine." I reply.

"Take it," he says with a warm smile.

As I slip on the jacket I look up to say thanks, but I'm frozen. His blue eyes meet mines, and I quickly look away. Embarrassed.

"Oh oh, I'm sorry," he says feeling the awkwardness in the air.

"I,"

"No,"

"Sor..."

We say as we fight for who should talk first to break down the wall of shame between us two. The moon shines through the window giving just enough light to see him.

"Ladies first," he says giving me the imaginary mic.

"This reminds me of my first day at high school." I  begin to reminisce. "I had always been quite to myself. Shy, I guess you can call it that. I've never been too good with direct eye contact as you can probably tell. Walking in the building, meeting all those new faces. It was so horrifying! I was scared if I looked into their eyes, I would meet someone I couldn't trust."

"Jade, you can trust me," he says with a genuine smile. That lures me in I just hope he's telling the truth.

"Are you sure of that?" I respond with a slight smile.

"Positive!" he pats me on my back. "But, I'm about get some sleep so, I'll see you in the morning."

"Night," I say, but he doesn't respond.

Still wrapped in his jacket, I stare at the stars. It seems everything has changed, but the beautiful stars continue to hang. I blink expecting them to disappear just as fast as my parents did, or just as fast as Nick's sister died. But in the sky they remain.

[Jordan's POV]

"Jordan!!! Jordan!!!!"

"What!" I answered groggily.

"We're here!"

"Here? What do you mean here?" I asked finally opening my eyes. The sun had finally risen temporarily blinding me.

"Just come on!"

If Jade's voice yelled at me one more time, I don't know what I would do!! Rubbing the sun out of my eyes, I hopped off the bus. I held my gun in my hand. Ready. In my head, I knew things were too good to be true. A safe-haven! Who falls for this type of stuff, but anyways I went along with the plan.

We slowly approached a tall building, apparently a hospital. In front of us, was the entrance bounded by only chains. Benjamin, who was basically our leader, yelled orders. "Anthony left side! Derrick right! All the females get back, don't need anyone getting hurt!"

I watched as Emily Sawyer slowly waddled carrying her sixth month old child. Her husband, Anthony Sawyer, held his small pistol at ready as he checked the perimeter of the building

"Benjamin we have a problem!" Anthony cautiously whispered."They're everywhere!"

"Damn, right side too!" Derrick said.

As everyone suddenly backed up towards the bus, we realized we were surrounded.

"Oh shit!" I yelled. Aim! Fire! I thought to myself, taking down one zombie. Head-shot after head-shot!

Derrick, our best shooter, couldn't hold off all of the zombies. "Head to the door now!"

"Hey, Jade's boyfriend! Make yourself useful and work on that door." I yelled laughing at my mordant humor despite the predicament we we're currently in.

"F.U. Jordan!" I heard Jade respond.

The zombies slowly pushed us against the door, fully surrounding us. I there odd screams of death sorrounded us; the voices tortured me. "Lord, please don't let me die like this!" I guess Nick realized who I was talking to, as he struggled with the lock bounding the chains.

"Any time now!" Claudia yelled holding her son in her arms. "It's gonna be alright Ryan."

"I got it!" Nick yelled pushing the door open as the chains fell to the floor.

As we turned around to look inside, I only had three words, "WHAT THE HELL!"
