Thinking of names for your OC may seem easy but it's actually really hard, if you want to make your OC "fit". For example,if your OC is living in a time of swords,castles,and all that then don't chose a name like Emma (not an offense to all you Emmas out there) It doesn't fit the time period. A name like Margaret, sounds more fitting. If your OC lives in everyday life, than Emma will work,and maybe Margaret.
Names also need to fit the character. If you hear the name Felicity,you might imagine a gentle, shy, and nice girl. The name is very soft which makes you believe that the person should be too. Names can make your character seem strong,kind,evil,shy,hyper,smart,unusual,sad,and more.
Even though names do fit characters,don't be obvious with your name choice. For example, if your character's name is Violet, don't make it so that your character loves the color violet,wears violet,has violet as their favorite flower and all that.It makes your character seem kind of weird and not fitting. If your character's name is Violet,things associated with her name may come up once in a while but not all the time.
I'm going to start writing the next chapter but here are some names to keep you busy or keep you for 3 minutes. So sorry that I can't include male names since I really can't come up with any.:(
