"When are you going to tell him?"
"It's not him."
"How many people have you slept with the past five weeks Lake?"
"3"
"Okay so it's between Lucas, Dustin and-" Grace looks at me confused.
"Rick." I say under my breath still not believing I'm even saying his name when I've only seen the guy once.
"Who's rick?"
"That guys I left the club with the night i found out dustin cheated on me." I'm still kind of whispering because I don't want to think that it's him.
"If he's the father, Are you going to tell him?"
"I don't know anything about him except that his name is Rick. I would say I know where he lives but I was too drunk to notice street names and I feel asleep in the uber after I left the next morning."
"So what are you going to do?"
"I don't know." I feel my heart sink a little because I can't believe this is happening.
"Well first let's make you a doctors appointment." Grace says.
And I get testy eyed again at her.
"What now?" Grace rolls her eyes at me.
"Your being so nice."
"Hell yeah I am because i'm going to be a freaking aunt and i'm so fucking excited I don't know what else to do." She says and surprises me that she's happy for me.
Because right now i'm not even happy for me.
"Well i'm scared out of my mind and I wish I could just be excited too." I smile sadly and hug Grace tightly.
Later....
It's 7 and i'm all dressed and ready to go. I don't plan on telling Lucas the big news. But i'll see how the night goes. I'm scared that Lucas will hate me once I tell him and that I will lose him. I love him and I haven't even gotten the chance to tell him yet.
There's a knock at the apartment door and I go to answer it.
"Happy one month babe. "Lucas hands me a dozen beautiful red roses and I feel so guilty taking them from him.
"Thank you they are perfect."
"I see your perfect baby."
"What?" I look at him with wide eyes
"I said you look perfect baby."
"oh, thanks."
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah." I take a deep breath, this is going to be a long night.
At the really nice restaurant we order our food and conversation flows.
"Did you eat something bad last night?"
"Um probably."
"You fell better though right?"
"Yeah don't worry about me."
"Okay." He seems to drop the subject but I know he knows something's up. Probably because I have been sweating buckets and stuttering my words all night i'm so nervous.
After our food arrived we talk some more.
"This place is really nice" I say trying to keep the conversation going in the right direction.
"Yeah I was recommended to come here from a friend. It's a little pricey but it's defiantly worth it for you."
I smile and tear up because I hate lying to him so much and anyone at that.
