Perfect Strangers

Chapter Eight

"Took you too long enough. Come say hi to your gramps Ricky." An old man sitting next to Johnathan and Sophia says.

Rick walks over to the old man with my hand in his.

"Hey gramps and everybody this is Blake. Blake this is My gramps,grammy, my oldest cousin Becca and her husband Jim and their three kids Cameron, Bailey, and Morgan. This is Beccas younger brother Matt and his new wife Alexa, who is carrying little jacob. And they are my uncle Rick's kids.I know it's confusing so we call him Richard. and my uncle AJ he doesn't have any children. And then there's my Aunt Kelly and her 17 year old twins from hell."

"Hey that's not nice Rick." A teenage girl says innocently but you can tell she's not so innocent.

"That's Alexis and her brother Justin and their younger brother Logan." Rick rolls his eyes and punches Justin on the shoulder.

"Dude not cool. Hey I'm Justin how are you on this very fine afternoon." Justin checks me out.

"She's mine Justin keep your teenage hormones away from her." Rick pushes his head to make him leave me alone.

I chuckle.

His family is so cute and just like Jen said there is so much going on and so many people talking that I don't feel nervous at all anymore.

I'm sitting next to Rick on the sofa with his grandparents and I'm just sitting comfortably watching how he lights up while talking to his family. I also love how that all his older cousins look at him with respect and love.

I hope our kids are just as charismatic as their father. Wait. Did I just say kids?

Yes I did ,and i'm okay with that.

I am slowly falling in love with a stranger.

"Lake what you thinkin about?" Rick whispers now looking at me while the rest of his family continues a conversation.

"When are we going to tell them." I whisper very quietly .

I've been wearing big clothes so that they can't see my little bump. It's small but it's there. I am dying to tell his family because I feel like they will make me feel okay about it because it seems that that's the kind of people they are. But of course I don't want to take the shine from Jen. And just as I think this Jen stands up with Mike and says.

"Everybody we have a really special announcement!" She claps her hands and everyone gives her their undivided attention.

"We're pregnant!" She shouts and her mother comes running in from the kitchen screaming and takes her into a huge hug.

Everyone cheers and Jen goes around to hug her family.

I get tears in my eyes and Say i'm going to the bathroom so that they don't see me like this.

In the bathroom I look up at myself in the mirror and let out a big cry, I'm frustrated at myself for crying so damn much, i'm happy for Jen, and I'm sad that I have to hide my pregnancy. I cry and I cry and then there is a knock at the door.

"Just a second."

"Blake is that you?" Alexa's voice is heard on the other side of the door.

"Yeah." I sniffle.

"Let me in Blake."

I unlock the door and Alexa comes in.

"What's wrong honey?"

"Nothing i'm just emotional right now and I don't want your family to see me like this." I laugh through my tears.

"awwww you look like me right now crying over nothing. I'm the family cry baby. Its gotten so much worse sense i'm pregnant obviously." She points the her round belly.
