"Follow me," Alec grunted and began to walk through a labyrinth of corridors, leaving me to follow him without even questioning where we were going.

I ran my fingers over the stone walls, drawing away when I noticed how cold they were. My eyes were fixed on the back of his head as he occasionally muttered directions to me.

"This is what's known as the training room," Alec said while opening the door to a large room with weapons cluttering nearly every spare spot on the walls.

Walking across the room, I drew my attention to the weapon he seemed to be getting and my eyes widened as he grabbed a seraph blade. Turning back, he grinned at me before handing the blade to me and looking at me expectantly. I gently admired the glowing light coming from seraph blade and the sharp edges of it. I hadn't seen a weapon like this before, and I felt almost overwhelmed by the object in my hands.

It was beautiful. But after examining the blade for a few minutes, my eyes wandered to the bow on the other side of the room and I couldn't help feel a longing to use it. Alec chuckled slightly and I looked over at him with a raised eyebrow, wondering what on earth he found so funny.

"First we need to do the basic training, and then we will do the fun stuff!" he gestured over to the bow and I blushed slightly, not realising that Alec had been watching where I had been looking.

Despite the fact that I wouldn't be able to use the bow just yet, I was still excited at the prospect of basic training and I looked over at Alec, wondering when we would start.

"Ok so this is your typical seraph, learning how to use this is vital for defending yourself," he took the blade from me, our hands touching momentarily.

I saw Alec take in a deep breath and he stared intently at my hand for a brief second before shaking his head. What was that all about? Did he feel the same spark that I did when our skin came into contact?

"Watch me, and then we'll try and get you to do some of the basic defence moves," he said, still looking slightly dazed.

Was it possible that I had an effect on him? That couldn't be the case, someone like Alec was so far out of my league that it was comical. He looked like he had been carved by the gods above and I was just your average looking girl- nothing special.

My eyes stayed focused on Alec as he performed some impressive looking tricks with the seraph and I wasn't sure how on earth I was supposed to imitate those same skills. I already knew that this training session would make me look like an idiot. But I would try my best and hope that I didn't fall flat on my face.
