I was in a deep sleep, my body still aching slightly from the defence session when a loud knocking at my door woke me up. Sleepily rubbing my eyes, I plodded over to the door to see who was making so much noise in the middle of the night. Opening the door, I was faced with Alec who was pulling a face that resembled a grimace.
"May I help you?" I said while rubbing my eyes, wondering what on earth he wanted.
But when I broke out of my half- asleep state, I noticed that he had cuts covering his arms and his clothes were slightly torn. My hands covered my mouth and I examined the damage and I couldn't understand how Alec was able to even stand up without collapsing onto the floor.
"I was fighting a demon and your door was the closest to the entrance," he was speaking through gritted teeth and I could see that he was in so much pain but trying to appear strong so I quickly hurried him into my room and lay him on my bed where he seemed to relax slightly.
Hissing as he lay down, I went over to my medical supplies and tried to find something that would clean his wounds. Grabbing a clean cloth, I ran it under the tap and then ran over to Alec's side where I began to clean the wounds on his hand that looked really bad.
He hissed and moaned slightly, showing his obvious discomfort but I needed to clean his wounds before they got infected. He would thank me later, that I was sure of.
Once I was done cleaning his wound, I renewed his healing rune because I saw how it was fading. He was slowly looking like he was in less pain and I smiled slowly as I got out my needle and thread to sew him up. Finally my medical knowledge was coming in handy, and I was glad that I wasn't completely helpless in that situation. I wanted to prove to Alec that I wasn't just some useless girl who didn't know how to do anything, I was worth his time.
I began to give him stitches and he just lay on my bed and took it, not even wincing. If I was in his position I wouldn't be able to take it without bursting into tears, I couldn't handle the pain. He was so strong, much stronger than anyone I had ever met.
Once I was finished stitching him up, I smiled at him and put the medical kit away. He rubbed his eyes slightly and lazily smiled at me.
"Feel any better?" I asked him quietly and he nodded slightly, but I could tell that he was probably still in a lot of pain.
"Thank you Y/N," he mumbled and tried to sit up; I simply stopped him calmly and made him lay back down, knowing that standing up would only hurt him more.
"Lay here and rest. It's okay to be weak sometimes," I whispered gently into his ear.
He nodded which I think was his way of saying thank you. His eyes slowly closed and I left him to rest, knowing that he needed to sleep more than anything. Walking over to Izzy's room, I knocked on her door and hoped that she would be awake. I just thought that someone else should know about Alec's wounds, and what better person than his sister.
She opened the door and raised an eyebrow at me which took me off guard slightly. Why was she acting so strangely?
"Did you like helping my brother?" she smirked slightly and I couldn't work out how she had found out already. Had she snuck into my room or something?!
"How did you know?" I said curiously, feeling slightly creeped out by the idea of Izzy watching me tending to her brother.
"I saw you cleaning his wound because you left your door wide open! And sweetheart, I think he enjoyed you cleaning him up. I saw him just looking at you and staring. You were too focused on stitching him up to notice," she was still smiling and I felt slightly uncomfortable being told this information from his sister.
"So he was basically checking me out?" I asked with a grin threatening to spread out on my face; inside I was screaming with joy but I decided to try and play it cool.
Izzy nodded and winked at me before closing her door, leaving me to process this new information. I guess it was a good thing that I gave him a helping hand...
