Episode 7: So Beautiful

Inseong's P.O.V.
"Hyung," Chani began, staring directly at me. He exhaled, appearing to have a lot on his mind, then continued, "What if I like her too?"

"Huh?" said Dawon, eyes enlarging in shock. "You guys both like Youngja-ssi?"

"Yes, it seems like it," stated Youngbin, rubbing his chin in response.

"Hyung," Chani began again. "I don't want any competition to occur between us and I certainly do not want our friendship to end because of this,"

"I don't know quite how to respond," I stated, still within my dumbfounded state of mind. Just how was I supposed to respond? Chani is like a younger brother to me and us liking the same girl... Is this bad?

Chani simply nodded in reply, grabbed his jacket off a nearby chair, and headed out the practice room door; saying he was headed to the dorm. Without him knowing, I had decided to follow slowly behind him; knowing that he was probably headed to hang out with his old friend Taemin. The two are indeed best friends, and when Chani had debuted, Taemin had revealed to us that he will participating in an open audition for a new Kpop group under a lesser known Kpop company. Chani couldn't help himself but be thrilled for his friend, but knowing that their schedules will be filled; this is probably their last time to meet up before Taemin makes it big.

Chani took a sudden turn into an alleyway, as I followed, I heard a voice behind me. "Hyung," the voice stated. Chani climbed down from a rusty staircase and approached me, a sudden look of seriousness drawn upon his face; of which seemed completely unlike him.

"Ch-Chani?" I stated in almost questioning tone.

"Why are you following me?"

"Well, you did just leave in the middle of practice. I just wanted to see what's up,"

"I did tell you guys that I would be out to meet up with Taemin. Guess you guys don't know much about 'invasion of privacy'..." As Chani's voice trailed off, I exhaled.

"It's not right for us to like the same girl, is it?"

"Well, I guess we can't stop our hearts from liking the girl that it likes, huh?"

"Chani, think about it... We are idols, so getting in a relationship with someone... It's technically forbidden, especially with Saesang fans around us,"

"Yeah, but..." Chani glimpsed around him, checked his watch, and stated, "Geez! I'm already late!"

"Oh," I stated, noticing Chani had wanted to change the subject as quickly as possible. "Don't be late for dinner. Youngbin will be mad if you are... And, I bet John-nim will be worried if you don't eventually show up. Don't take too long, 'kay?" I gently patted his head, he in turn rolled his eyes directly at me. Pulling my hand off his head, he walked away.

Chani's P.O.V.
A couple minutes later, Chani meets with his close friend Taemin at a nearby 7/11

"Yah, Kang Chanhee! You're late!" Taemin stated, faking his anger and crossing his arms at the sight of me appearing before him. Giving him a smile, I sat there on the stool beside him. Taemin smiled back and handed me an ice cream sandwich bar.

As we snacked on various types of junk food, I finally relented upon telling him what I had wanted to say all along, "Taemin," my voice trailed off as I took another chip from the bag and ate it.

"Yeah, what's up?" replied Taemin, stopping in the midst of grabbing another chip out of the bag. "Is something wrong?" He gave me this concerned look, probably noticing me frowning.

"It's just that, I think I might have a crush on this girl," I stated in response. "Her name's Youngja,"

"Well, for one thing... I'm scared for you. If the media somehow catches you with this girl, then your career as an idol may be in jeopardy."

"But, I really like her, Taemin! What the heck am I supposed to do then?"

"Well, if you really do like her, might as well confess to her. Just don't let it get in the way of your career,"

"Well, I kind of did confess to her,"

"That's pretty brave of you, Chani. If I was in your situation, I'd probably want to save my reputation as an idol."

I thought through what Taemin had said about how being in a relationship or liking someone as an idol could tarnish my reputation, but that all doesn't seem to matter to me anymore. I really do like Youngja-ssi.

But, just what am I supposed to say to her when I meet her again?
