all good things must come to an end
and that means high school has forcefully ended the short, snowy reverie
and thrust us all back into the classroom.
for days of snow weigh heavily upon the administration
who replace our youthful fun with standardized testing.
i don't mind
it means i can see you more often.
the day passes painfully
slow
and i almost lose my mind
waiting for the clock to tick
and tock
and release us to meet once more.
when we do meet
it's like hot cocoa introducing itself
to a pair of chapped lips
and a freezing body.
let the warmth envelop you
the same way it embraces me.
i say hello
you say hello.
we sit.
clock ticks
but this time
i beg for it to stop!
please, let me say one last clever remark
let us exchange one last glance!
but no
the bell rings
you bid me adieu with a gentle laugh
at my poor and desperate execution of joke.
i sigh
and look down.
on the ground i see:
a glove.
i know that forgotten glove all too well.
it is yours.
some Cinderella you are,
leaving such a thing behind
only for me use it
to find you again?
