The following morning, as everyone in the house trudged into the kitchen late in the morning, it took almost ten minutes for Chun-Yan to notice the new rings adorning the three blond men's ring fingers.
And when she did, oh lord.
In a manner of seconds, the freshly brewed coffee was all over the floor, causing almost everyone to cry in despair, two chairs were overturned, Poofy ended up in Ivan's arms, Princess was yapping and running circles around a fallen Arthur, the sink faucet was broken off and water was spraying out onto the floor, and Alfred was bent backwards over the table with Francis thrown perpendicular across his stomach.
It was the most confusing situation ever.
Two hours later, after dogs were sung into a calm state, the floor was mopped and dried, the water was shut off in the kitchen, one kitchen chair was sitting on the curb and the other was standing on shaking legs, and Alfred, Francis, Arthur, and Chun-Yan were bandaged up (they each had managed to hurt themselves in one form or another) they were gathered in the living room with a squealing Chun-Yan and a smiling Ivan.
"Congratulations!" She kept exclaiming, though maybe not just that one word, but it was very obvious no matter what she said (or what language she said it in).
They didn't feel like correcting her, because normally promise rings lead to marriage anyways, though they knew that all three of them could never marry and they felt it was to early to even broach the subject, this promise of a future together was a very big thing for them and their relationship and they welcomed the positive response.
"This is so wonderful!" She continued to say, And Alfred blushed under so much praise, "Ivan, isn't this amazing, look it! The rings are beautiful! Ohmygosh, you three are making me so happy, I love to see love so beautiful like this." She got up and hugged them all tightly before taking a seat again. That was only the fiftieth time she had hugged them.
Ivan hadn't stopped smiling since they had shown the rings, and it was one of the most sincerest happiest smiles any of them had ever seen. It ranked right next to the time Chun-Yan had asked him out on a date, and then when he said yes to being her boyfriend. Nothing could compare to the smile he had when he had asked her to marry him.
Then, Chun-Yan had to break the trio's embarrassment by asking a rather surprising question.
"Do your families know?"
They all three froze before uttering in unison.
"Shit."

They decided to stay together the rest of the day. They wouldn't let one another face this next challenge alone, but they would tackle it another day.
Ivan and Chun-Yan were leaving the following day, December twenty-seventh, so they decided to have a final day in. They ordered food in for the day (they ordered chinese food for lunch, but when Chun-Yan took offense to it, they ended up ordering pizza and subs as well and just binge ate as they got hungry throughout the day) and played games (such as Cards Against Humanity, Monopoly, Twister, Pictionary, Trivia Pursuit, some corny "how well do you know your partner" dvd game -which ended with all of them cursing the game with how awful it was- and many more).
It was a rambunctious afternoon, but it was a wonderful way for them all to wind down after the frantic week they had had. To just sit in, and laugh and rage and have fun over something as simple as board games. For dinner, they did go out, but it was to a bakery where they bought a cake and a multitude of sugary sweets, and then, a last minute decision that had them all giggling like fifteen year old's, they stopped at an "Adult Store" and picked up a few amusing games, and funny party favors before finally returning home.
