Danielle’s POV:

After our shopping trip and a quick coffee break, Cat and I drove back to Eleanor’s place. There was no other space where we could keep our decorations and still leave them at the tips of our fingers. We housed most of the findings in the “sacred girl room” and kept it under lock and key.

Cat and I tried to grab everything in one trip but didn’t succeed. I took what I could and used my copy of the house key to let us in. The lights flicked on as I walked from the foyer to the dining room. I heard movement upstairs but didn’t give it a second thought. I was too busy trying not to topple over and getting everything out of sight.

Cat dropped a bag behind me with a thud and a curse. I shushed her and shimmied the other key into the lock of the baby’s room. I finally unlocked the door and dropped everything on the floor. We finished locking everything away and I set a pumpkin spice coffee on the counter for Eleanor.

I searched through piles of paper and found our list of items we thought we needed. I crossed off multiple rows with a pen and left it sitting on the counter.

A plate of brownies was also sitting on the counter with a note from El saying they were for us. Thank God I had a sister in baking. I pulled up a bar stool to the tall counter and looked for the biggest brownie I could find. Cat rummaged through their large fridge for milk and poured us each a glass.

I ate at least three very large brownies and was on my fourth when I felt two hands tickle my sides. I jumped up out of my seat and also choked on the gooey mess inside my mouth. I turned around to see Niall in one of his favorite snapbacks and a white t-shirt. “What are you doing here?!” I asked through my mouthful of food.

“Lou and I are headed out for a drink. Haven’t had one wit’ him in a while. What are ya doing here? Did ya come over just to eat your weight in sweets?” He joked and played with the ends of my hair. I glanced at Cat and tried to recover from my nervousness.

“Just getting some stuff for decorating…” I reached for his low back and traced where his skin and shorts met with my thumb in hopes of distracting him.

“They’re very secretive!” I heard a familiar voice yell down the stairs. Louis descended down the staircase in a hurry and took a bottle of water from the fridge. “El’s room is locked and I can’t go in there. They go in there all the time.” He finished and took a swig of his water. I shrugged my shoulders at him and he shook his head. “It’s my house too, you know.” He said to no one in particular.

Louis went out to mope in Niall’s car because we wouldn’t let him into the baby’s room. Niall stood by me while I switched over a load of Eleanor’s laundry for her just as she requested. Apparently she had an article of clothing that she needed tonight and would be out for quite some time. I had no problem helping her out.

I pulled the dry clothes out into an empty basket and switched over the wet ones. I started her fancy dryer and began to fold laundry while I sat on top of the machines. Niall put his hands on my hips and tugged on my jeans. “I know you’re hiding somethin’” He mumbled seductively.

I took his hand from my hip and stuck a wad of clothes into it. No way was he getting something out of me. He grimaced and obeyed my silent command. “C’mon! Tell me…” He whined. I stuck a finger to his lips and smiled at him. He sighed and brought me closer to him. “Fine.” His lips grazed my ear. “I’ll get ya someday.”

He kissed me goodbye and sped out to Louis. I knew that soon enough he would forget all about it. He would come home drunk and pass out next to me. I made a mental note to pick up the essentials for a hangover on my way back to his place. He would thank me later.
