I walked to the park, the only place I could think to look for Tara. We had never been able to track her to her house. She may not be a good fighter but she sure was fast.

I got to the park and started walking around the perimeter to search for Tara. She had to be here, she was always here. Reaching the edge of the trees I saw some shoes a bit of a ways back into the trees. Quickly I ran into the bushes and picked the limp body off the ground.

I carried the girl out of the trees and carefully laid her on the ground. "Alright let's see who you are sweetheart."

I swiped the girls hair to the side of her face. My first thought was that this girl was stunningly beautiful. She didn't have makeup on but it just showed off the pure natural beauty. Her hair was white blonde almost the color of fresh fallen snow. She was a natural beauty set aside the purple and blue marks on her left cheek and right eye.

Those bruises looked oddly familiar. I looked back over her face and scrambled backwards as recognition finally set in. Tara, it was Tara laying on the ground before me. I had just called the girl I vowed to hate so much, beautiful.

I didn't want to help her but I couldn't leave her to die. I groaned as I pulled out my cell and dialed emergency.

"Hello? How may we assist you?" a woman's voice came over the speaker.

I can't believe I was doing this, "I need help. I found a girl in the bushes at Redcreek Park. She has bruises on her neck. I think she was strangled."

"Alright sir I'm sending emergency personnel  to your location. Please stay on the line with me until they get there." her voice responded.

Did I want to stay until the police came. I looked down at her face. I couldn't let her die, I wasn't a killer. "I'll be here. How far away are they. I don't know if she's alive or not. She needs help."

"They'll be there in two minutes. In the mean time I want you to put a blanket, coat, something warm on her so she doesn't freeze."

I nodded then remembered that she couldn't see me, "Alright."

I took off my coat and draped it over her still body. Sirens sounded in the distance. "The police are here." I said into the phone.

"You can hang up now. They will take it from here."

"Thank you." I said and put my phone back in my pocket after ending the call. "Don't worry Tara you're going to be okay." I whispered in her ear.

A police car pulled up and an officer stepped out. "Sir? You called in an emergency?"

I nodded while walking up to him, "This is a girl from my school. I found her here as I was walking around the park. I don't even know if she's alive. I pray she is but I don't know how to tell."

"Bring me to her."

I walked back to Tara, "This is her. Her name is Tara. Um, look I really need to get home to study. May I leave?"

The office look at me with a confused look, "Don't you want to know if she's okay?" he questioned.

"Sure." I said awkwardly.

The officer crouched down and pressed two fingers to the side of her neck. "She's alive but barely." he looked back at me, "Would you like your jacket back?"

I shook my head, "She needs it more than me." I began to walk away.

"Sir?" he called out to me. "What is your name so we can get to you if we have any questions?"
