The Equation For Better CP Fanfictions

So I've been thinking about this a lot, and I've realized that the solution to fixing the cliches of the fandom is more simple than I had originally thought.

Let's face it, this fandom is isolated.

By that I mean that we focus on writing the same things, we use the same basic elements, and most importantly, we write almost exclusively in these five literary genres:

1. Creepypasta + Romance

2. Creepypasta + Horror

3. Creepypasta + Erotica (I'm looking at you, fangirls.)

4. Creepypasta + Action

5. Creepypasta + Slice Of Life (This is what happens when we write about Creepypastas dating, living together like family, facing teenger problems etc.)

I've thought about and realized that at least 98% of CP fanfiction falls under one of these categories in one way or the other. We stick to using only those 5 sub-genres in our stories.

So that's got me thinking.

If we want to write better fics, then maybe we should expand our horizons to include other genres. It would make things so much easier if you think about it.

Let's analyze.

Creepypasta + Mystery - I think this is a good choice, and it really makes sense when you think about it and would make a really interesting story. We ARE talking about psychotic murderers and supernatural entities, right? Mystery goes great with those, and so adding a little mystery to your fanfiction is definitely an option. (If anyone decides to actually do this, I would so totally read it.)

Creepypasta + Fantasy-  This one is my personal favorite and is one I'm currently incorporating into my JTK romance. Fantasy is so broad, and has SO much potential. You'd be surprised how well it goes with Creepypasta. It is definitely worth the try.

Creepypasta + Fairy Tale - This one is interesting as well, though I'll admit I'm not sure how I myself would pull that off. But, it would make for a really interesting story no doubt.

Creepypasta + Humour- Ok, so I'll admit this probably should've been up there on the other list since we have quite a few of these but I decided to keep it down here because it's still an option that one can explore.

Creepypasta + Science fiction- I would LOOVE to see this one. I feel like it would turn out super good if done right. There's absolutely so much potential for this combination.

Creepypasta + Historical Fiction- This is a good one, and this one has loads of potential too. So far the few fanfictions I've seen with this crossover have been amazing, and I'd definitely encourage people to try this.

So these are the major ones that I wanted to highlight. There are many more but it's really all about thinking about other books you've read (outside of this genre) and thinking about how elements from those texts can help you write better.

So, here's the equation:

Creepypasta + Other Genres = New and interesting fanfictions.
