Sam's point of view
Jack walked in the room. He was alone. And crying.
"Jack... don't cry..." I told him.
He sat at the foot of the bed.
"Will you sing to me? Just once? Like when you sang in front of Mark and Matt?" Jack sobbed.
I nodded.
Deep in the meadow
Under the willowA bed of grass
A soft green pillowLay down your head
And close your eyesAnd when they open
The sun will riseHere it's safe
Here it's warmHere the daisies guard
You from every harmHere your dreams are sweet
And tomorrow brings them trueHere is the place
Where I love you(-Jennifer Lawrence||The Hunger Games)
"Sam... where did you learn that?" Jack asked, still crying.
"It was a song by Jennifer Lawrence," I explained. "From The Hunger Games."
"Youre a good singer..." he said, covering his face with his hands.
"Stop crying... please..." I took his hand away from his face.
"Why? It's all I can do," Jack mumbled.
"Don't think about it. It's as simple as that. How do you think I keep myself from tearing up?"
He didn't reply. All he did was cry. Still.
"Look, if you aren't going to talk to me, then please let Mark. I think he needs it."
And so he left.
Jack's point of view
I walked out. I couldn't bare it. I walked over to the restroom and knocked on the door.
"Mark?" I asked.
"Go away," He demanded.
"Sam wants to speak to you."
"How do you know?"
"She told me to send you in there."
"Fine." Mark came out, his head down.
I sat down in the hallway chair. The others had fallen asleep. But I couldn't. Even if I tried.
Mark's point of view
"Sam?"
"Mark. I wanted to talk to you. Sit down." She motioned to a roller chair that faced her. She sat up.
" 'Bout what?"
"Something. Anything. I just want to talk to you one last time before... you know... I... pass."
"Well, I guess this my last chance... Sam, I love you..."
