"Are you with Sam?" The doctor said to me.

"Yes... is she alright?" I ask.

"Well, I dont know yet. But she's awake. You can go speak with her if you'd like." She said.

"Sure. I've been dieing to give her these." I show her the tulips. "Also, my friend is here to see her but he's... oh there he is." I say to her, waving to Mark to attract his attention. He jogged over and picked up the roses he is to give Sam.

"You are...?" The doctor asked.

"Mark Fiscbach. This is my friend Sean McLoughlin. I see you've met him." Mark answered.

"Yes I have. Right this way." The doctor walked down the hall and over to an emergancy room.

"She's in there." The doctor indicated to the door.

Mark and I walk inside to see Sam; the plastic sheet-covered, bloodied-up, shattered- cheekboned girlfriend I knew. It was so sad to see her like this. I wish she woukd get better.

"Jack..." She said.

"Sam..." I said back.

"Mark..." Sam said.

"Sam..." Mark replied.

"Skykar!" Skylar yelled goofily. Mark laughed. Then me and Sam.

"Really, Sky?" Sam said in a hoarse voice.

"You look terrible. How bad is it?" I asked.

"You wanna see?" She said lifting one of the plastic sheets.

"Eww... no!" She put it back. "But, do you know how bad your condition is?" I asked.

"They're coming back with the results right now, actually."

A male doctor walked in. He was a little round, with a smallish beard and mustache and the top of his hair was gone. He had a clipboard in his hand and a pen in the other. I'll have to be brave. Keep my emotions in my head.

"So, we have the results for your condition." He said, flipping a page on his clipboard. "So... the bullet made impact about where your stomach. You're bleeding internally so, I'm afraid might not have but a few weeks, a month perhaps left."

Sam and I started to cry. Skylar and Mark walked out. The doctor shortly after. Before he walked out he said, "I'm so
sorry."

Sam had known it was either a live or die chance, this was the chance of death. Why couldnt she live? Why her? Why not me? I hugged her. She had weeks to live and had to spend them in this boring butt hospital. If the doctors would have actually tried, maybe they could stop her from bleeding.

"Sam..."

"I know....... I'm never gonna see you again am I?" Sam said.

"I'll be with you 'til the end." I answered.

"You shouldnt spend your time waiting for me to leave you forever." Sam stated.

"But I will. I dont care how long it is. I'm gonna stay until your eyes close for the last time." I said.

"Really? Just because you care?" Sam asked.

"Until the end." I repeated.

Sam reached over and turned on the boombox next to her. It played her customized CD. The first song that came on was 'If I Die Young'. Of course.

"If I die young, bury me in satin. Lay me down on a. Bed of roses. Sink me in the river. At dawn. Send me away with the words of a love song." Sam sang, getting up and grabbing me by the hand to dance. She was still wearing the clothes from earlier. We were dancing and then the next song came on. 'Set Fire To The Rain'.

"But I set fire. To the rain. Watch it burn as I touch your face." We sang along to it.

'A Thousand Years' came on next.

"I  have died everyday waiting for you. Dariling dont be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years. All along I believed I would find you. Time brought your heart to me. I loved you for a thousand years I love you for a thousand more." We sang to it. I spun her around. Mark and Skylar walked in and saw us. They said something but we didmt hear them. Then they started dancing.

"Tonights gonna be a good night. Tonights gonna be a good night. Yeah, tonights gonna be a good night. I gotta feelin. That tonights gonna be a good night!" All four of us sang as we danced the night away to the playlist. And even though we all new Sam didnt have long, we still wanted to make her last days special. The doctors said we could take her home and have a special last few weeks with her. And you know what the best thing I ever did? Kissing her.
