I took as deep breathe and held it as I quickly opened the window and rushed out of it, dropping down about two stories onto the cold hard ground. I press the button on my glasses that quickly transformed into a gas mask. I immediatly realesed the breathe I was holding. I looked up from my spot on the ground to spot two Brave soldiers gazing out the window trying to spot me. Not even a second passes until they spot me. I didn't waste any time and immediately rushed off.

"Hey!" one of them yelled.

I didn't even look back. I just have to get out of here. I got out of the alley and into the streets of what use to be New York City. I look to my right to find a storm of Brave soldiers marching my way. I smirk. I didn't expect my self to be that popular.

I didn't waste time and started for the left. ALl I could here was the feet of the stampede behind me. I stuck to the side of the building trying not to be seen. I wanted to puke at the site in front of me as I slowly crept. Out in the middle of the streets were a bunch of cars, some were slammed into one another while others looked abandoned. The windows on the skyscaper were shattered and paper flew in the very light wind. You could faintly spot smoke rising from somewhere else in the city and all the light were either flickering or shut completely off.

*Fair warning. The next part is slightly graphic, in my oppinion at least. Just letting you know that there are going to be some important events or details that happen in parts so I would recommend reading it.*

It wasn't this that made me want to hurl though. It was the bodies. So many bodies. Some were scattered in the streets with bullet holes skewed across their chests with dark blood creating their own coffins. One pair looked like a mother and a child clutching to each other as the last liece of life escaped them causing them to die and slow and painful death. In the alley ways, body upon body was stacked there. Some weren't even wrapped. Several skeletons already decaying thanks to the disease that quickly at at your flesh and felt like acid.

As you looked up, the sight got even worse. Bodies hung from the side of buildings or light poles. These were the people who didn't want to live in a world like this where everyone is slowly dieing around them but they didn't want to be taken ahold by the deadly disease. They would rather die at their own hands.

All you could smeel was burning, death and smoke. No mask would help you avoid the smeell. It made your nostrils, your eyes water and would leave a bad task in your mouth. Even if you were around the 24/7, you would never get use to the smell.

*Okay it's over. For this chapter at least.*

I had to push this all behind are though. I was on mission I have to finish. I quickly glance over to spot where the Brave soldier were at. They were finally for far away enough for me to run without them noticing. I took the first chance I ran and ran off. I had to get back before sunset. As I looked at the sky, I could tell it was nearing it. I took a right after running for a bit and dashed into an alley way. I spotted the door and slowed down. My breathing was harsh and my legs felt like jelly.

I got to the door. Before anything, I looked all around me. I didn't want anyone to find these people who lived in peace. After making sure everything was clear I knocked three times on the door and lightly kicked it four times. I hear footsteps nearing behind a door and the click of a gun's safety being turned off. I stepped back a few steps away from the door. It slowly croaked open only leaving a thin strip to look through.

There stood a little girl who looked about the age of eight. Her blonde hair was a raccoon's nest and stuck up in all directions. Her dress was now a dull blue and was teared and burned at the ends. Her feet carried no shoes and she had a medical mask covering her face. When looking into her eyes, you would like she was innocent with her big blue eyes and her height that was only about my chest but looks can be deceiving in the time we live. I knew she held a loaded gun behind the door that was pointed directly at my head and I knew that look in her eyes. She wasn't afraid to shoot.

Hello guys!

First off, thank you to anyone who reads this! I am very excited to write this book and I got this idea when I was looking at some pictures online. I don't know what this will transform but I am very excited to figure it out.

Hope you guys enjoy this as it is kind of like a sneak peaks since I know I won't be posting any of the other chapters for a while since I am writing this book off at the side. Please leave any recommendations and vote if you like this first chapter. If I get 4 votes I'll post the next one quicker than I originally had planned.

Thank you!
