The first four classes went by fairly quickly, Ryder accompanying me in all of them. We only had to do introductions in one class, which thankfully went without drama. I recognized one of the boys in two of my classes, Hayden. He had been my friend until 10th grade when I found out he was homophobic. Things didn't end well between us, so I had done my best to avoid him as much as possible. I knew that he was considered popular now, his gait made it very obvious. I followed Ryder to the cafeteria, keeping my head down slightly as we walked. We walked into the crowded room and I followed Ryder over to an empty table and sat down. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

"Not gonna get something eat?" he asked pointing behind him with his thumb, I shook my head and shrugged.

"Nah, not really hungry." I said, he shrugged and set his backpack down on the seat next to me and walked away. I pulled out my notebook and a pencil and started sketching, letting the lines take the form of a face with firm and defined features. I focused on the jawline, shading and defining it, then the cheeks and nose, then the eyebrows and hair. I noticed however, I was avoiding the eyes so I stopped and looked at it as a whole and realized it was taking the shape of Ryder, and I didn't know how to draw his eyes. I starred at the paper frustrated and sighed, shutting my notebook as Ryder sat down.

"You good?" He asked eyeing the notebook, I chuckled and nodded looking at my hands.

"Yea, just drawing." I said looking around. I furrowed my brow and looked up at him. He raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything as he started eating. I let eye wander his face, taking in his features fully, stopping on his eyes. They were a very clear blue, yet sharp and intense; they were focused and soft. His eyelashes were dark, and long, some of them were tangled with each other. I studied them closely while he wasn't looking at me, hoping he wouldn't notice how entranced I was by his eyes, his beautiful yet stern eyes that I had only now let myself really see. He blinked and his eyelashes seemed to hug each other before letting ago as his eye opened again, he was looking at me now. I blinked and looked down at the table, not knowing where else to look.

"So uh..." I cleared my throat and looked back up at him. He was leaning closer than before and we starring at me. I swallowed and looked down at the table again.

"What class do have next?" I asked straightening my back, I glanced at him and he raised his eyebrow. He reached in his pocket and pulled his schedule out, scanning over it quickly before laying it on the table next to my notebook.

"Math, then gym for the last two class periods." He said as I read his schedule. Ours were exactly the same, and I realized I had asked to see his schedule earlier already. I nodded and pushed it back over to him.

"Right, sorry." I said. He nodded and tapped my notebook.

"Can I see?" He asked starting to slightly slide it closer to him. I starred at it for a moment and nodded hesitantly.

"There's not much in it. That one's relatively new." I said scratching the back of y head as I watched him open it to the first page. He ran his fingers over the page gently, his eyes soft and focused as the scanned over the lead sketch. He turned the page and did the same thing, taking his time looking over the drawings. He smirked slightly as he kept turning the pages, my leg was shaking under the table now, nervous about him seeing the sketch of him with no eyes. He slowly flipped the page and his smirk fell, he furrowed his brow and held the notebook up, his eyes never leaving the page. I gulped and cracked my knuckles, waiting for him to shake his head or say something. His look of confusion slowly faded, then he chuckled lightly and closed the notebook, pushing it back over to me.

"Realize you haven't made eye contact with all day?" he said looking at me through his lashes. I forced myself to make eye contact as I nodded.

"Yea, it uh, it became apparent when I noticed I had no idea what your eyes looked like." I said chuckling. He smirked and stood up, grabbing his backpack and swinging it onto his shoulder.

"I wanna show you something." he said tapping my shoulder, I looked at him confused and glanced toward the clock on the wall.

"We have time, don't worry about it." He said laughing. I sighed and stood up, grabbing my backpack and following him into the hall. He looked over his shoulder as we walked down the long hall, and turned down a hall that was cluttered with extra trash cans and brooms and empty boxes. I was sure we weren't supposed to be back here, but I continued to follow him, back towards the door at the end of the hall. He looked back at me and smiled pushing it open.

"It's the only door that doesn't have an alarm on it, and there's no cameras in this hall." He said triumphantly. I nodded and smiled stepping outside, he propped a stick between the door and the door frame then dropped his bag next to the wall.

"Leave your bag here, almost no one knows about this door, and the janitor is cool." he said. I put my backpack down and glanced at the door before following him again. We walked around to the back of the school where the football field was. Ryder turned and walked backwards smiling at me.

"Pretty sweet hang out spot huh?" He asked, I chuckled and looked around.

"No one comes out here?" I asked, he shook his head, then shrugged.

"I mean, some people do, but that's the people who know about the door, the ones who skip." he said reaching into his pocket and checking his phone. We walked over to the bleachers and sat down, he leaned back propping himself up on he elbows and sighed. I looked around and relaxed, leaning back. It was warm and sunny outside, the sky was blue with the occasional puffy white cloud. the green leaves were swaying gently in the breeze. It was a perfect day, I wanted to find a spot under a tree in the grass to just sit and draw, while my thoughts wandered and my spirits were high. I closed my eyes, smiling at how peaceful I felt, how clam everything was. I knew we were late to class by now, but it seemed like we just weren't going, and I was perfectly fine with that.

"Well, would you look at that, Ryder found himself a bitch." A voice boomed, a sarcastic chuckle following. I opened my eyes to see Ryder sitting up and glaring down at a boy who was standing at the bottom of the bleachers.
