It had been a day since Maxon and I had woken up from our sort of coma. We had left the place we had woken up in, finding we weren't far from where we lived, unless mom had moved. Soon we had come to the house. He knocked and we waited. I felt like something would or should happen, but everything was called an as the maid opened the door. Everything was ok until the maid took us into the main room, where our mother was waiting. She was drinking from a crystalline wine glass, and it obviously wasn't the first one. When she saw us her eyes narrowed and she set down the glass, standing up to face us. She used to be taller than both of us but since we had grown while in the coma, we were both taller than her. There was a slightly evil glitter in her eyes as she looked us up and down. Soon, she spoke. "You little bitches almost got me put in jail. You stupid freaks had the police searching for months. I was finally glad you were gone, I was rid of you. Now your back. You had the fucking nerve to cause hell for my life and then when it was finally settled you came back." She says. For a moment we both just stand there, her eyes boring into us. "It's not like we chose for that to happen!" I yelled. "So just shut up." I say. My mom smirks, she comes up and slaps me hard across the face, startling me so that I fall to my knees. I stand up quickly and my mom smirks. "You two are just stupid freaks." She says. "And I am done with you once and for all." She says. "What are you gonna do with us?" Maxon says. "You can't get rid of us." He says. She still smirks slightly. "Oh but I can. Tomorrow your both going to boarding school in New York. Separate boarding schools, one for boys and one for girls." She laughs and exits the room. I have no idea what to say and neither does Maxon, not for the moment at least.
