I felt hot tears coming out of my eyes. With my long sleeves, I wiped it and sniffed. With blocks away from the Cathedral, I swore I was never coming back. My mother would be so disappointed in me now since she tried so hard to let the priests accepted me. Closing my eyes, water still fell out but thoughts about the flashbacks six years ago were playing in my head.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

"Please, your Eldest. Please accepted my son into your Cathedral! I beg of you please. . ." my mother sobbed. I looked at her with a painful expression written on my face and then glanced at the Eldest, who was taller than my mother. He gripped on his beaded cross pendant and turned around.
"Go home, commoner. There is no way that we high classes will accept such a son from a lowly class like you." he rejected harshly towards her. My mother began to sob. This was her fourth time coming here. I held onto her arms and tugged her.
"Mother, it's no use. Let's go." I encouraged her and she looked at me and suddenly threw me a despairing hug.
"And please do not come back here to ask again. The answer shall remain the same. May Mother Mary bless your heart." the Eldest said and I looked at him, gripping onto my mother's sleeves to vent my anger out.
"Wait, your Eldest." a sudden voice jumped in. "Please accept him. Can't you see that the poor lady had suffered enough from your rejections? It really seems like she wants her son to learn about Mother Mary and God." it said and my mother stopped crying and turned to the voice's direction.
Stepping out a young man, no older than eighteen smiled at my mother. I glanced at him from head to toe. He was tall and build, the abs were shaped through his shirt. The Eldest narrowed his eyes at him softly.
"Foolish words Ari. How will I accept such a low commoner? Others have asked and you should know that I reject them all. There's no used Ari." he replied, getting ready to step in the Cathedral.
"Your Eldest, please wait. Look at the boy. Study his features. Don't you think that something about him seems deemingly captivating?" Ari said and the Eldest stopped, hesitating to speak and turned around. The next thing I knew, his green eyes were staring right into my blue ones. I shivered a bit.
It was a long moment of silence.
"I suppose." he said and Ari gave a soft slight grin at him.
"Just like me your Eldest, don't you think this boy has potential too?" he said and the Eldest looked at Ari and sighed a bit.
"I cannot win a verbal argument with you Ari. Well said, I accept this boy, low commoner. As Ari said, I want to see this boy's full potential." he stated and turned back around, walking in. All of a sudden, my mother squeezed me tight within her arms that I was suffocating in her breasts.
"Oh, God is on our side Akidu! You're finally accepted! Oh goodness, I'm so happy!" she said and pulled away as I was catching my breath. She suddenly turned to Ari. "Thank you so much kind sir! I owe my son to you and for my sake, I beg of you to watch him! Please protect him and make sure he is safe! I cannot thank you enough." Mother rejoiced happily and I smiled at her.
"But of course, I shall make sure your son is in good shape with me. I believe he will be a very honest priest." Ari said and my mother gave me one more hug before parting away.
"Take care Akidu. I will visit you when I can. For now, I must go back to the opposite side of this town and work more money for you." she said and I cling onto her arms.
