Chapter 5

Hadley's P.O.V

Carly and I were watching them perform backstage when she finally started to ask me questions.

"Tell me everything." Carly said sitting on the sofa next to me.

"I don't know where to start."

"How long have you known him?"

"Basically since preschool." I said thinking back to the day I first met him.

I was about 4 years old.

"Mommy no, I don't want to be here!!" I cried clinging onto her as she tried to hand me to my preschool teacher 'Ms. Albus'.

"Baby, you won't be here all day. Please just try it for me." She said kissing the top of my head when I finally gave up trying to go with her.

It took about a good 30 minutes for me to fully calm down.

"Are you okay?"

I look up to see a boy in front of me.

"I'm Luke." He said wiping my tears.

"I'm H- Hadley." I stuttered.

"Don't cry, I'll protect you." He said.

"Promise?" I asked.

"Promise."

"We became best friends ever since that day." I explained.

"What made you stop talking to him? Why didn't you tell me that you knew him?" She asked.

"I don't know why to be honest. We just lost contact but this necklace I'm wearing, he gave it to me before I moved here. And I guess the topic never really came up."

I didn't realize I was crying until she wrapped her arms around me.

"I can tell you have feelings for him. You look happier." She said which made me smile.

"Thanks, I just, I don't know. I mean, we haven't seen each other in 3 years."

"We can make up for that time we lost."

I look up to see Luke with a smile on his face.

God, I missed that smile so much.

"Are you asking me out Hemmings?"

"If thats how you look at it, then yes."

"I'll be more than happy to." I said kissing him on the cheek.
