It all started when I was six, my parents were still alive and so was my sister. I was happy then but that all started to change, my parents started fighting and my sister and I couldn't go anywhere else because we never met any other family besides my parents, but Carly, my sister wanted to help and take me away from the constant tension. Carly would come in my room every night and talk to me for hours. We would talk about anything and everything but our parents. One night Carly came into my room and we were just talking and we heard yelling and screaming, as usual. Then we heard a loud crash and an ear piercing scream from my mum. We ran down the stairs as fast as our feet could take us. My dad was nowhere in sight and my mom was lying on the floor with glass stuck in her head. Her chest was not moving and she didn't have a heartbeat. Tears flooded my eyes, I didn't like her or how she argued with my dad but I still loved her. That was my mother, the one who gave birth to me and now she is laying on the floor dead.
I was six back then and I know how to take care of myself more than most seventeen year old's. Carly took a hard hit in the heart that night and she didn't leave her room for a week, not even at night to talk to me. It didn't take a genius to figure out that my dad did that. I walked up the stairs and found my dad in his and mum's bed passed out, drunk again. I knew he was drunk because the room reeked of alcohol. He was normally like this, drunk.
Carly decided to finally leave her room and get food, she normally did this once a day. She knew dad was drunk and didn't need to look for herself. She sighed loudly, I looked over at her from the window. She started cooking dinner and didn't even ask about dad. I was worried about both of them. I mean, yes, my dad killed my mum but I still love him. As for Carly, I don't know if she'll ever be the same.
After we ate dinner, Carly went back to her room before I could even say 'Hello' to her. I sighed and decided to go to bed. I laid down in my bed and stared at the ceiling. I knew it would be hard to fall asleep, but I still tried to relax, when I did, I started to drift off to sleep.
