Hey! Just so you know, I also have this posted on onedirectionfanfiction.com so I'm not stealing it or anything! Also, just an FYI, I wrote this early last year. Enjoy!

“You’re disgusting.” Harry says, giving me one last glare before walking away, leaving me alone in the hallway as the late bell rings. I wait a few moments, trying to calm down before I wipe my eyes and stand up, dusting myself off and picking up my books. Taking one last deep breath, I walk to my biology class, keeping my head down incase any of Harry’s crew sees me.

“Miss Parker, I’m glad you could join us.” Mr. King says sarcastically as I walk in.

“Sorry sir.” I mumble, not looking up as I take my solitary seat at the back of the class. I look over to Liam, hoping he’d give me at least a sad smile. But, like usual, he doesn’t even look at me. Being the only ‘outsider’ who knows about my daily torments, for some reason I keep expecting him to stand up for me. But, considering how he’s let it go on for the past three months without even a glance in my direction, there isn’t much hope in that.

The class passes quickly, me being all but invisible as I doodle in my notebook. When the bell rings, I quickly make my way to the lunch room, dreading having to stand in line after once again forgetting my lunch. I pull out my book, only reading the first paragraph before someone bumps me, causing me to fall to the floor and my book to slide across the ground. I don’t even have to look up to recognize the laughter behind me, knowing it was Harry’s crew. I slowly get up, brushing my hair out of my eyes before noticing the blonde boy in front of me, holding my book out for me.

“Oh, uhm, thanks.” I say, blushing at my lack of social skills as I subconsciously took in his appearance. Even though he was just wearing a green adidas shirt and some low jeans, his hair and bright blue eyes made him look like a freaking male model. I hear snickers behind me, which makes me realize I’d been staring. I take my book, probably tomato red as he grins at me.

“Not a problem babe. I’m Niall.” He says in an accent I don’t quite recognize, cheerfully smiling as he holds out his hand out. I shake his, noticing the laughter behind me has stopped.

“Emily.” Wow. I’m so good at conversations. This is why I don’t have friends. Niall is about to say something when I get shoved aside (what’s with people and shoving me?), luckily keeping my balance.

“And I’m Kinsey, it’s nice to meet you.” I try not to roll my eyes as Harry’s girlfriend pulls a very confused Niall into a hug, giving him a kiss on the cheek, her shorts riding up so much that you could practically see her butt. Niall pulls away, looking slightly annoyed.

“I was kinda having a conversation, if you didn’t notice. It’s rude to interrupt.” He says gruffly, turing to me as Kinsey stood there, looking so shocked it was almost comical. To be fair, the expression on my face was probably the same. No one ever told her off, especially to talk to me. “Sorry about that. Now, where were we?” Niall says, giving me a cheerful smile.

“Wait!” Kinsey shrieks (literally, I think I may have ear damage. That girl is freaking loud.) “You are not talking to her instead of me.” I noticed the cafeteria had gone silent, everyone staring at the scene she was making. And I mean everyone, even the stoners who usually just sit there laughing as ‘the celling spins.’ High School is full of weird shit. Anyways, I just stared at everybody with a ‘deer caught in headlights’ look on my face as Niall rolls his eyes, not seeming fazed at all.

“Well, considering that she’s only said four words to me and I already like her more than you, I think I am.” Niall says causally as if half the school wasn’t looking at him with a ‘who is this sexy new guy’ while the other half stares at me like ‘I didn’t even know a face could look that bad.’ As my blonde hero turns around, I catch Harry’s glare. A chill runs through me as he mouths ‘You’re going to pay for that.’

“Next.” The lunch lady says in her old-man voice. Actually, in the three and a half years I’ve gone here, I still haven’t decided if it was a she or a he. I mean, no women could have that much nose hair...

“That’s you.” Niall says quietly, putting a hand on my back as he gently guides me forward. Human contact, that’s a new one. The lunch lady/man puts what looks like either chicken or fish on my plate, and I grab an apple and bottle of water before walking up to the cash register. “Wait a sec Emily!” Niall says, walking as swiftly as he could with a lunch tray literally pilled with food.

“Is that all for you?” I say as he sets down his tray, pulling out his wallet.

“Yep.” He says, popping the P as he hands the cashier money for both our meals. “Keep the change mate.” Niall smiles, picking up his tray and looking at me expectantly. “Wanna have lunch together?” He asks after a few seconds of me awkwardly standing there, not sure what to do.

“Sure.” I say, having it coming out more as a question then an answer as I pick up my tray. Luckily, he seems to brush off my awkwardness, leading me over to a table where a brown haired boy with eyes almost as blue as his was sitting with a dark skinned boy. They must have all been new to the school, because I would have remembered seeing these guys before. People don’t lie when they say hot people stick together.

“Hey mates, this is Emily. Emily, this is Louis” He nods to the brown-haired one, “And Zayn.” Nodding to the other one.

“Ello dear, nice to meet you.” Louis says in an accent different from Niall’s, taking my hand and giving it a kiss.

“Nice to meet you.” Zayn smiles, his eyes literally smoldering as he looks up at me. Why did they all have hot accents?

“You guys have accents.” I point out, because obviously they didn’t know that. I’m so smooth. Louis grins, probably trying to decide if I was mentally stable.

“Yes, we do.” He says, obviously trying not trying to laugh. “We’re here on exchange from the UK.”

“But i’m from originally from Ireland. I moved to the UK with my family a year ago.” Niall says, his mouth full of food. Zayn shoots him a look, and Niall rolls his eyes, but keeps his mouth closed as he chews.

“You can sit down love, we don’t bite.” Louis says, the same grin plastered on his face. I realize I was still standing, holding my lunch tray with my book under my arm. Niall slides over slightly, and I sit next to him, hoping they don’t see my blush. Most girls look cute when they blush. I look like a lobster.

“We saw the scene you made Niller. Louis here couldn’t stop laughing.” Zayn says, winking at him.

“Well I wasn’t going to let her be so rude. Are all American girls like that?” He asked, turning to me. I look up from what I had decided was probably chicken, surprised he was still talking to me.

“For the most part, no. Kinsey is just a bitch.” Normally, I don’t like swearing. That’s just the only word that describes her.

The rest of the lunch goes pretty well, the boys talking about English soccer teams I knew nothing about. Still, it was better then reading by myself in the library. right before the bell rings, I look up to see Harry glaring at me. I gulp, looking down, knowing there was nothing I could do. Even though I may have actually made some friends, they can’t protect me from Harry.
