CHAPTER 3

"The Truth..."

HANNAH

"Best na po 'yan sa lahat ng meron kami dito, Ma'am" the sales man said. "Kung titingnan n'yo po, discounted na rin siya. Early Christmas sale po kasi. Sayang naman kung 'di n'yo kukunin."

"I like it pero titingin muna rin ako sa iba."

He flashed his smile. "Okay po, Ma'am. No problem."

Naglakad ulit kami ni Jenna palayo do'n sa mga baking equipment. I've decided kasi to buy my own baking tools and equipment simula nang malaman ko ang totoo. It was almost three weeks simula nang malaman ko 'yung tungkol kay Edward. Yes, I have to admit... I was a little disappointed.

Hindi ko alam anong gagawin ko o paano ako magre-react sa nalaman ko. Gulong-gulo ang isip ko kung dapat ko bang sabihin sa kaniyang alam ko na kung sino ba siya...

O dapat magpanggap na lang din ako just like what he's doing 'til now.

Laking pasasalamat ko pa that he has been busy with his own stuff kaya hindi kami halos nagkikita. He just insisted that I can use the penthouse kitchen as long as I need it.

"May nangyari ba sa dating pinaggagawan mo ng mga bine-bake mo? Why are you buying new tools?"

Kinuha ko 'yung mixing bowls. "Napag-isip-isip ko na may kinikita na rin naman ako. This is a good investment. At least, akin na 'to."

Jenna gave me a strange look. "Wait lang. May...'di kaba sinasabi sa 'kin?"

Tumingin ako sa kaniya. "What are you saying?" I just smirked.

"Wala lang. Napansin ko lang nitong mga huling linggo, you look so serious and silent. Parang...laging may iniisip?"

Bumalik ako sa pagtingin sa mga bowls and whisk.

"Business... Lagi kong iniisip pa'no palalaguin 'to that's why."

Yeah... This is all business for him. He just wants to help me achieve my goal. Bakit ba 'ko nag-iisip ng iba? As if anything will change kung malaman niyang alam ko na kung sino siya.

Of course... He's trying to hide this since he's not someone you should have met in the first place. Right?

Habang naglalakad kami, I received a text message from him.

TEXT MESSAGE RECEIVED FROM EDWARD: Hey, I have good news for you. Call me once you're free. K?

Yes, I know... He's just being generous with his knowledge in business. I should be thankful... Yes, Hannah, just be thankful.

TEXT MESSAGE SENT TO EDWARD: Oks.

Oks? Just Okay? I knew it... There's really a problem here that I didn't know. Did I just do something stupid again? Or is this another woman's episode?

"Lovesickness again, caveman?"

I turned my head on him. "Caveman?"

May pinipirmahan siyang document in his table.

"Cavemen protect their possessions very seriously... More importantly, their woman." He looked at me. "You're like that with Hannah—."

"Shut up. Just do your work."
