As I turned down to the woods after school, I was talking to Dallas over the phone.
"I just don't understand why he's so curious. If he really wanted to know, he could look it up!" His voice grumbled over the line. I smiled a little.
"I know, but it is a group project. You have to do your share." I chastised him a little, causing him to groan.
"Anyways, im at the woods. So i'll talk to you later! Love ya!" I said and hung up, continuing my walk down the path. I followed the path a little whiles before going off and walking through the forest to the lake, not bothering to follow the longer path. AS I came near the opening, i noticed that Liam was there.
Crap! I forgot the hoodie! I thought, regretting leaving my backpack in the car, where my hoodie lay. Liam looked over and i stepped back, into the darkness of the trees. Zaron stepped into the clearing, and stared at Liam. Liam immediately froze, staring at him.
"Your that wolf from yesterday!" He mumbled, looking at Zaron who flicked his right ear and went to the water to drink, still not trusting Liam, but testing him. Liam slowly sat down. Zaron lifted his tail, showing his rank and looked over to where i was.
"Human from last time. The scent is the same." He said and turned back towards Liam, who was looking at where I was hiding. Suddenly, Another wolf, one from Zaron's pack who i recognized, and named Dusty, walked up onto me. He yelped in excitement. I suddenly remembered that i had a sweatshirt in a fallen log for these type of occasions. I scooched over the log and grabbed the sweater, putting on the hood. I made my way to the clearing, Dusty at my heels. I ignored Liam and walked up to Zaron who trotted up to me, with a slight wag of his tail. I kneeled down and hugged him.
"Hey Alpha." I said and then he looked at Dusty who sat down, tail between his legs. There was a moment where Zaron stared at Dusty before Dusty slowly got up and ran into the woods.
"You're the girl from last time." Liam's voice cut through the silence. I looked at him, after I turned around.
"Yeah. I am. Why are you so curious! Just leave me be." I sighed and Zaron huffed, sitting down. Liam looked thoughtful, but still defensive.
"I've only seen you once before! What do you mean?" Liam said taking a step towards me, stopping only when Zaron gave a low growl. I met his curious look with a cool one and then Zaron suddenly stood up with a loud growl, his tail rising up, and his ears going back. He ran into the woods.
"CRAP! What now?" I thought. Zaron never did that! Last time he did that, there was an intruder in his territory. Then it hit me. Of course. Dusty ran off, he was prone to be attacked.
"What's your name?" Liam asked.
"None of your business Liam." I responded, knowing i had the upperhand for a minute.
"How do you know my name?" He asked, somewhat cautiously.
"Well. We have a lot of classes together." I said before turning to face him.
"Okay. So we go to school together." He said.
"Yep. And that's all you're going to get. Have a nice night." I said and walked off into the woods, opening my wings and flapping into the trees.
"Wait! I need your name!" Liam shouted. I stayed silent, and with a grumble and a look around, Liam walked back to the beachy area.
"At least give me some clue!" He shouted. After another moment of science he sat down and kept looking at the water. I sighed and took off, flying towards the edge of the park. I flew to the end of the park and as I landed, with a swoosh, I closed my wings and put them away. I went to my bike, put on my helmet and drove off to go home.
As I entered the house, Dallas was on the couch, looking at T.V.
"Hey took you long enough. It's about to start." He grumbled, glancing at me. I jumped over the back of the couch, landing on it.
"You said you would test me, and when have you even known me to miss a Supernatural episode?" I rolled my eyes and the starting scene started playing. About two hours later, Dallas and I were staring at the screen, dumbfounded. Then we exploded.
"WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN!" I screamed and Dallas threw a pillow at the T.V. I sat back down, glaring at the electrical divide, which I now hated.
"Also, it's your turn to make dinner." I noted, sighing before getting up and turning off the tv.
" I know. Don't need to remind me. Oh! Mom and dad sent an email. They are in Egypt now." He said walking to kitchen. I sadly smiled.
"Good for them." I mumbled walking up the stairs and going to my room. As I dropped onto my bed.
"Oh! Some of my buddies are coming over later! Try not to pelt them with food this time!" Dallas called up.
"LIKE I SAID! I DON'T CARE!" I yelled back, standing up and unfurling my wings. There was a laugh and then I heard his footsteps fade away.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The sound of the guy's laughter annoyed the hell out of me. I put away my wings, stomped downstairs and went to the kitchen.
"Angel! The dinner's on the stove!" Dallas called out from behind his shoulder. Still, saying nothing, I walked into the kitchen. As I walked into the kitchen, I saw Liam, looking through the fridge.
"Dallas, do you have anything other than water and juice?" I leaned against the counter. "You know that the soda is in the cabinet on the bottom to your right." I spoke, Liam whirling around. "Oh. You're here. Dallas didn't say. I wouldn't have come." He scoffed, but still looked at the cabinet and grabbed a Coke.
"Yeah. I know. I would have not come out of my room if i knew if you were here." I sighed and went to the stove to the pot.
"DALLAS! MY GOD! I LOVE YOU!" I called out, making Liam flinch. "Shut up woman!" He mumbled. I gave him a glare, before taking a bowl and putting the mac and cheese into it. "I know you do!" He called back. I smiled and turned around to see Liam staring at me. I narrowed my eyes at him before starting to eat it. I smiled, tasting it. Liam stared at me some more, before walking out, and I followed him to the living room, looking at who was here.
"Okay. Try not to make too much noise please?" I said before walking back to the door, grabbing my coat. I walked outside and sat on the steps, eating my food. It was a nice night, and you could kinda see the stars from behind the trees. I just listened to the wind and the crickets as i ate. I heard someone come outside and close the door.
"What are you doing here? Especially in this weather?" I heard Liam ask.
"Its peaceful. And i don't mind the weather. It's nice." I responded, quietly.
"Well. We're leaving now. So. have doing whatever you're doing." He said, mumbling something under his breath before walking back inside.
"Dude! You're sister's weird! Like who sits outside like a- OW!" There was a sound of someone being hit.
"My sister is not weird! Shut the hell up!" Dallas said, making me smile. 'Thanks Dal.' I thought. Soon enough, but still a while later, all the guys got up and left, brushing past me with a quick 'bye'. I nodded and stood up, going to the back yard. As i stood, i went to the tree in the backyard and started climbing it, and sitting on a branch. Looking at the sky, I started softly singing.
"Why are you always alone all the time?" I voice asked from below me. I glanced down to see Liam and Dallas looking up. "Cause." I responded, looking back up. I heard someone climbing up the tree and looked down again to see Dallas.
"Hey." He said once he got to be next to me. I softly smiled before letting it drop. "What's wrong?" He asked. I looked out in front of me and wrung my hands together. I shook my head.
"GODS! How can you guys climb this high?" Liam's voice interrupted us. "We are used to it. We did this all the time, like in the woods and everything." Dallas said making room for Liam. I felt his eyes on me, but i still didn't look back and played with a leaf. "Angel...tell me." Dallas said now focusing on me again.
"It happened again." I whispered. Dallas grew still.
"The same thing as last time..." He asked. I nodded before looking back up to the sky.
"Wait. What?" Liam asked, looking between us. Liam and I ignored him, and just stayed quiet. Then the howling started. I smiled and sat up, and Liam chuckling sat up also. Liam, started looking around frantically.
"They do this every night. It's my favorite part of the day, i don't care what you think. I'm happy that no one knows about the wolves, and there is a ban on hunting them here." Dallas told Liam. Liam scoffed, but stayed up in the tree. I jumped down, hearing Liam gasp, as I landed. I walked towards the woods and threw my head back and started howling, along side the wolves. I heard Liam tell Dallas that I was super weird, and then a groan, from Dallas hitting him. I paused to breathe, and looked over to see Dallas walking over to me.
"Okay, Wings. Let's go to bed." He teased, putting an arm around my shoulders. I playfully shoved him, and we waited for Liam to climb down the tree. After a little while he was on the ground, and walked over to us. We walked together inside the house, and Liam and Dallas went into the living room, while I went upstairs to go to bed. I got under the covers and closed my eyes, relaxing, waiting for sleep to take me over. I felt someone sit on my bed and slowly brush the hair off my face.
"G'Night my angel." The voice said before I drifted asleep.
