*Unknown POV*

"Wake up! Wake up! It's Christmas! Get up, Bubba!" My four year old sister jumped on my bed, I groaned and turned away from her. She yanked my blanket off of my bed and then ran away laughing. I got up and wiped the sleep out of my eyes before I went to the living room. My parents were in the kitchen making breakfast. "What time is it," I yawned and sat on the couch.

"Eight o'clock," my mom said.

"Mmmm, it's too early," I groaned again. My little sister jumped in my lap, I acted like I was asleep before I opened my eyes and tickled her. She screamed out in laughter. Then my mom walked in with two steaming mugs of hot chocolate. She handed one to my little sister, her cup was in the shape of Hello Kitty, and then one to me, which had Simba from the Lion King on it. My little sister slurped from her cup,"Mmmm, cinnamon." I laughed and took a sip from mine which tasted like it had a hint of mint in it. I put my cup down, picked up my sister and walked into the kitchen. My parents were at the stove putting Christmas shaped pancakes onto plates. I sat my sister down and walked over to make myself a plate.

*One hour later*

My sister and I were sitting in the living room floor, while my parents were snuggled on the couch. "Demarcus, would you do the honors of being Santa Claus?" my dad asked. I nodded my head and handed out the presents. My sister got a couple of dolls and some kiddie make up sets. My parents got some new sheets and a new set of kitchen knives. As for me I got a new demon knife and a flask of holy water. Hunting the supernatural was a family business. "Oh my gosh! Thank you guys so much!" I got up and gave my parents a huge hug. I wake up from a strangely vivid dream. I remember that Christmas, it was the Christmas when I finally got to join my father on cases.  It was one of the best days of my life, one of the best years by far. Man do I feel guilty. I left them not too long after my training was finished, which was almost three years ago. I roll out of bed and use the restroom. As I was brushing my teeth I look up into the hotel mirror. I let out a slight sigh, I really do miss my family but what I did was what needed to be done.

*That night*

I walk into the only diner in town to get the scoop on this case I had been following. Apparently there was a nest not too far out of town, and by nest I mean vamps. One of the most vile creatures to walk the earth, well right under demons of course. I choose a seat at the bar and order a cup of coffee. I look around the place trying to figure out who to question when I catch sight of a short woman. She seemed familiar in some way. Maybe she was just another hunter that I passed on a case in the past. I shrug it off and continue my search of the diner. A few minutes later I get my cup of coffee but I still haven't gotten over that woman, I turn to the waitress and ask if she knows who she is.

"Oh, short stack? Yeah I know who she is. She's been here day and night for a few weeks now, I think she may have moved into the old Henson house down the road." She turned to fill the cup off coffee for the guy next to me.

"She's pretty cute if you ask me," the guy sitting next to me elbows my side and smiles.

"Well, what's her name?"

"Y/N if I remember correctly," the waitress says.

"Y/N..."

"Y/LN. Is it? Yeah I'm pretty sure that's what it is." Oh no, that shouldn't be her! I thought she was out of the life. I hurriedly grab my wallet and throw a few bills down before running out of the diner. Once I got back to the hotel I packed my things as quickly as possible and took off to who knows where.

*Six months later*

I'm heading out to go talk to the police about the animal attack case they closed a few weeks ago. Once I get there I see the girl from the diner. I slouch down in my car hoping she won't see me, which thank goodness she didn't. I sit up just enough to see her and a guy with dirty blonde hair climb into a black Chevy Impala, a sixty-seven if my calculations are correct. I watch as they drive off. I hit my steering wheel, "Dammit, why is she here?" I push my keys into the ignition and drive back to the hotel. Once I'm there I face plant into my bed. I sigh, don't get me wrong I'm glad to see her, and alive at that, but I wish she would just stop popping up.

*The next night*

I'm heading out to go talk to the family of the victim when I see the Impala from yesterday drive past. Whelp, it looks like my plans have changed. I follow the car hoping to get a lead. After about five minutes of driving they pull up to an abandoned barn and grab somethings out of the trunk. I can't quite tell what they are but  assume it's hunting gear. I shut off my car and follow them. when we are inside I spot a stack of hay and hide there. I see her glare at the gun that the man behind her was holding when suddenly she stiffens and grabs an arrow. I look to where she's looking and see a werewolf jump out at her. She rolls out of the way and readies her arrow again. The guy and the werewolf are now on the ground fighting, she pulls back on the bow and fires it. She killed it with an arrow! Wow, I need to work on my hunting skills if that could kill a were. She's still standing there with her bow in the position from when she fired it. I hear a muffled conversation between the two, only picking up on some words like bullet, silver, and heart. She grabs the arrow from the werewolf and wiped the blood off before offering a hand to the guy. He takes it and they start to head towards me. I try to scuffle away but unfortunately slip on some stray hay. They go quiet and so do I. I hold my breath hoping that it wasn't me they heard and it was something else. Suddenly I hear a growl and a few muffled grunts before I hear gunshots. I peek my head above the hay and see the guy firing at the werewolf, a few shots in the girl screams the most blood curdling scream and I run out. I just saw something I was not supposed to see. With my hands shaking I head back out to my car and back to the hotel. Why did we have to cross paths again?
