Your POV

When our eyes met, my heart melted. For some reason I imagined his lips on mine, devouring them. I never was kissed before and liked it, but with this, I imagined his lips on mine, his tongue trailing against my lips, exploring every crevice and nook. It felt magical, as if someone casted a spell on me and make me forget about the world. Was this really what love felt like?

My vision suddenly disappeared, leaving me treading there under the boat, looking into the pink haired boy's eyes. I watched as his eyes also came into focus like he was in a daze as well. He focused on my face, then trailed his eyes down my body, taking in my curves and exposed skin. Suddenly I didn't feel so comfortable with only wearing a pink bikini top.

"You..." he trailed off, swimming backwards away from me. "You....have a tail..."

My heart suddenly stopped for a second. Dang it. I forgot I was a mermaid. He would get scared and run off. I needed to get him to not run away.

"It's okay..." I murmured, holding out my hands to show him I meant no harm. "I won't hurt you..."

He reached up and felt the boat above him. "Your kind killed my father."

I looked at him quizzically. "What...?"

This time he yelled at my face. "You killed my father! You're trying to do the same to me!"

I widened my eyes in surprise. "I...I..."

He then turned away one started swimming, kicking his feet with all his might. But he barely got anywhere. I sprang into action, flicking my tail and grabbing him, pinning him above to the boat.

"Don't you dare go up there and expose me," I hissed, my face so close to his, I would feel the water he was breathing on me.

He glared back at me, trying to free each of his wrists. "Why shouldn't I?"

"Because if you do, I will kill this ship and everyone on it. I will send you to the palace of Luna Lagoon and the king himself will threaten your own life and you'll never be able to see the daylight of the surface again. You will be forced to swim into the depths where either a) you will be eaten by a man-eating organism or b) you will be crushed by how much pressure you could take."

He didnt express any anxiety. His eyes remained blank, showing me he had no fear. "I don't care about the people on board. They want me dead anyway. Why don't you just kill me off now so I can get it over with?"

This surprised me. A human wanted to die? Why? I thought they had everything in the world, all the happiness they could ever imagine. Their world was perfect. Why did this one in particular not see that?

He must of saw the uncertainty in my eyes. "What's wrong?"

"You...want to die?" I questioned, my grip on his wrists loosening. He didn't try pulling away though.

"Of course. My life is falling apart. My mother doesn't care for me and I have to support us both. She hates me. My dad is dead because of your kind. What else is there to say?"

I then let go of him, letting him drift downwards. I backed off, my eyes pointing towards the depths. He was serious.

"You're...special...aren't you?" I asked, picking at a scale on my tail.

I could hear the questioning in his tone. "What do you mean?"

I looked him in the eyes. His chocolate ones bored into me, piercing through my soul. I felt like he could see everything saddening in me. "You're here to help me, right?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"You saw it, didn't you?" I said, getting closer to him.

His eyes became anxious, them bouncing around me. "S-saw what?"

"The vision."

"W-what vision?"

I glared at him, my arms crossed over my chest. "You know what I'm talking about."

He then looked defeated, his shoulders slumping. "I...I did..."
