Your POV

"Stay. Please," I pleaded, starting to swim over to him.

He started backing away, going to the boat's edge. "You're going to kill me. I can't die like this. I'd rather make this a desicion of my own."

I stopped, not wanting him to be seen by the passengers on board. "I'm not going to kill you. I just need you to come with me. I need to figure out why we had that vision."

His eyes narrowed, him running a hand through his pink hair to get it out of his face. "Why? What do you need from me so badly?" His tone was a like a smack to the face. Harsh and painful.

"Something's special about you. I can tell. Now come with me. I can give you a better life. You could be happy, swimming through the coral reefs and playing with the fish. The merpeople will learn to love you. I could finally get away from my dad, finally be free. Please, you have to listen to me."

It took a few, long, horrible seconds for him to ponder over this. I gnawed at my lip, hoping for a direct answer. I needed him to come with me. I could show Rikon him and then he could help me. He was half merman and half sea witch. He would understand what was happening with us.

Finally, the words slipped out of the boy's lips. "F...Fine..."

I smiled and raced over to him, grabbing his hand. I could feel his arm retaliating from me, but held on to it with a death grip.

"Thank you," I breathed, a weight feeling like it was being lifted off my chest.

He tried staying a good distance away from me. "You're welcome..."

"You ready to go?" I asked, starting to inch a little so we could get ahead start.

As he slightly nodded, I took off through the water, zooming across the sandy floor. I heard the boy scream as we went along, alarmed at the pace I was going. I didn't care. I let us glide along, my tail flicking to keep us going. I giggled slightly, feeling how free I was for that moment.

The ground started to slope, and I went along with it. The water was becoming chillier, which didn't bother me. The sunlight was starting to fade a little from how deep we were going. The boy had stopped screaming at this point and let me guide him along.

Soon we came upon a entrance to a sea cave. On the outside, glowing little sea stars lined the edges, lighting up the entrance for us. I could hear the sound of someone working in there, mumbling and clanking bottle together.

As we approached the mouth of the cave, a small shark about half the size of me snaked towards us. I smiled at it, but I could feel the boy tense up at the sight of the shark.

"It's okay," I told the boy. "He won't hurt you."

The boy slowly became relaxed as the shark brushed up against me like a small pet. I petted the top of its head.

"Someone's here," a voice echoed from the back of the cave. "Just wonderful..."
