CHAPTER 31- THE NEW ALPHA

STEFFIE'S POV

Me, Lee and Scott followed the basement tunnel of the Hale House. We reached the end of the tunnel that maybe leads to where Derek is.

My phone vibrated and  it's my brother.

STILES:
I'm at the hospital and dad's scolded me. Please text me if you're fine cause we're both worried sick.

I replied to his message and told him that I'm fine and with Scott and Lee. Then we continued our search. We found Derek. Tied up on a pillar getting electrocuted. He signaled us to hide because there's someone guarding him and might be back any moment. So we all hide ourselves and also try ro remove the chains the bound him on the pillars. Scott finally removed the chains and Derek still pretented that he's tied up. The guard came back and he open some sort of a spotlight and focused it to Derek.

"Do you wanna have some fun?", he asked. Derek weakly glared at him. "My hands are itching but it's hurting", he began. Then he showed a wooden baseball bat. "So I have to use this. But I have to warn you, I used to play in college", he warned and raise his bat to hit Derek. Derek stopped the bat and he punch the guy.

STILES'S POV

I went to the hospital and got scolded by my dad. I'm still worried about Lydia's condition. Dad explained everything to me like Lydia's having an allergic reaction to something the doctors didn't know what. That she lose a lot of blood. Also they're all confused on what happen to her. Who or what attacked her and what is she doing in the middle of the lacrosse field. Dad asked me if I knew anything or I saw someone suspicious. I didn't tell him anything because he might not believe what I'm gonna tell him.  Then he asked for Scott, Steffie and Lee, I looked at Jackson, whose also here and he mouthed that Scott nor my sister are here which I also know. So I told my dad they didn't know anything about the situation that maybe they all got home before the incident.

"Stiles, just go home, stay with your sister and wait for your friends", dad told me.
"Dad, we knew that it has something to do with Derek", I said. As I kept on bugging him about the Hale House fire.
"I thought you guys barely know him?", he asked.
"Well, we know way more than that", I replied. He grab my collar and drag me out of the earshot of other people.
"You know that I'm elected to this job", he scolded.
"Dad, if I could help you figure out this case. You could get re-elected", I reasoned. He sighs and explained to me that Lydia has nothing to do with the Hale house arson. That they have a witness and how they mistook it as a fire not an arson. That it was a young girl who did the fire. But that was years ago. Maybe she's on her late or mid twenties. And that girl has a very distinct necklace. Then he left to answer his phone. Now is time for action.

LEE'S POV

After the bad guy's been knocked out, Derek commanded us to help him remove his other hand on the chain (since we only remove only one hand). But Scott refuse so did Steffie.
"Not until you help us stop Peter", Scott said.
"Do you really want to talk about this right now?!", he asked.
"He's gonna kill everyone. He's gonna kill Allison and her family", Steffie replied. I'm shocked at what I heard. I knew the Argents has something to do with the fire. But Uncle Peter doesn't have to take innocent lives to get his revenge. Innocent people like Allison and her mom.
"So tell us how we can stop him", Scott said.
"You can't!", Derek screamed. "Look, I don't know when Kate's gonna come back, so get me out of here. Get me out of here right now!", he continued screaming.
"Promise you'll help me", Scott said.
"You want me to risk my life for your girlfriend? For your teenage crush that means absolutely nothing?", Dereke retorted. Then he glared at me and Steffie.
"Look Derek, Scott knows Uncle Peter's plan. He's not just planning to kill the "Responsible Ones", but also the whole Argent clan", I explained.
"So what? They killed our family too", he replied.
"Allison doesn't know about us", Steffie said.
"Scott and Steffie isn't part of the Hale family. Why do we need to include them in this?", I asked.
"Because they're part of THIS pack", he replied.
"But we didn't sign up for this", Steffie said. Scott nodded.
"Maybe you're right", Scott agreed. Steffie looked at Scott as if he just said something wrong. "But I knew something you don't", he continued. "Remember when Peter told you he didn't know it was your sister he's killing. He lied. You remember this", he said, showing a file from the police cases. The case about the deer with the spiral.
