The sun had set as night drew in, the once warm evening being swallowed by a cold darkness.

Josh had just finished his shift down at the towns local music store.

His parents had inherited the store a couple years back, giving Josh no choice but to work there, not that he minded.

It wasn't like he had anything better to do with his time.

He breathed out deeply as he locked up the main entrance to the store, a cloud of smoke emitting from his mouth and nose every few seconds as he continued to exhale.

He turned on his heels, squeezing the store keys into his tight skinny jean pocket.

He pulled out his phone from his back pocket, as he began to walk down the road.

He plugged in his earphones, then placed each one in the allocated ear to which they were designed for.

Placing his phone back in his back pocket after pressing play on shuffle, he clasped his hands together, breathing out into them, attempting to warm them up.

"-need gloves, man, it's bad weather this time of year." An unfamiliar voice suggested.

Josh turned slightly as he continued to walk, barely hearing the persons voice over his music.

"I'll keep that in mind." He mumbled, not wanting to seem rude to the stranger, but he kept it blunt enough so the stranger had no way of keeping conversation.

Making conversation was the last thing on his mind, he just wanted to get home.
