2-Just one Day

I stared after Dom as I crossed my arms over my chest I turned back towards the trail I was heading to I got halfway through the woods until I realized I didn't know where to go and not being able to see through the darkness didn't help either. I huffed as I just stood there then reluctantly turned back towards the pack house as I realized I had to stay at Dom's pack house.

Just for one day at least. I promised myself as I huffed and slowly made my way back towards the pack house. Once I reached the pack house I looked up towards the window considering it would be best to just slip back in without being noticed. But once I heard deep chuckling I knew that was out the door I sighed as I turned towards the sound searching through the darkness to find a figure leaning against the wall.

"I knew it" Dom said as he walked up to me his eyes sparked with something as he looked down at me "About fifteen minutes" he said. "I can take care of myself" I murmured annoyed as I looked back up towards the window. "I just need to wait for the sun to come up" I said crossing my arms Dom simply shrugged his shoulders as he lead the way.

I followed after him into the house and noticed that I got a few stares from other wolves I looked around and I found myself in the living room. Dom turned to me before he spoke "I'm going to speak to some of the guys" he gestured to down the hall. "You can come if you want" he offered and I found myself nodding in agreement not wanting to stay by myself where there's wolves that already seemed that they don't like my presence at all.

I thought I noticed an amused glint in Dom's eyes before he turned his back but I decided I imagined it, I frowned slightly as I followed him. There was something about him and about this place really as I found myself looking around me closely. It was like I been here before but I know I haven't, scratch that I wasn't exactly sure because my past seems like a dream when I try to remember certain things.

I looked back at Dom in confusion, I wonder who he really was because there was something about him I just couldn't place my finger on it and it was driving me crazy.

I followed him into a big room and just stood there awkwardly as he sat at the head of the table I then just decided to sit next to him. I was fumbling with the hem of my shirt then looked up when I heard the opposite door we came in open. I watched as three other wolves walked in almost immediately their eyes landed on me.

One had short brown hair and green eyes that glinted with caution as they landed on me and the other two done the same. I looked down and began fumbled with my suddenly interesting fingernails to avoid their gazes. Once they sat down silence filled the room before Dom's deep voice broke the silence "Annabel, this is Eric, Nicholas, and Chris" he introduced I looked up shyly as each one nodded their head at their name.

I studied each wolf cautiously before I nodded slowly before dropping my gaze as they started to speak I found myself drowning whatever they were saying out as I focused on the mahogany table.

I peeked up at Dom every once and a while as they continued to speak, sometimes there were long silences as they looked at each and I knew they were having a mental conversation about something they thought I shouldn't hear. If only they knew I wasn't really listening. I found myself studying Dom more closely than I had before as he spoke.

I noticed the way his eyebrows knitted together and his nose wrinkled in frustration and the way his lips thinned in annoyance as well as the way his shoulders tensed. I found myself wishing I had actually paid attention to what they were saying to find out what was causing him to feel that way. I looked back down and rubbed my temple in confusion before briefly looking back towards Dom as all the small things he was doing seemed all too familiar.

I found myself studying harder as something flashed across his brown eyes as they flickered to me I then felt my own widened in realization. I couldn't believe my eyes I wanted to rub them to make sure that they weren't fooling me but something in me was sure that I was right.

As if to prove me right there was a quick hazy flash of children flashing across my vision, focusing on a small blonde kid with glowing brown eyes that sparkled in excitement.

Oh..my..god..there's no way..

I was consumed in so much shock that I nearly slipped out my chair causing all chatter to seize as four pairs of eyes snapped towards me in confusion and concern. I quickly straightened as I wanted to just sink into my seat as a certain pair of brown eyes were glued to me in concern. I hoped I haven't said anything because I tend to say my thoughts out loud without realizing it.

"Are you okay?" Dom asked I nodded as I adverted my gaze to avoid the others "Yeah, just tired" I assured. As if to prove it a yawn broke free and I haven't really realized I was tired I guess my mind was busy about everything else.

I heard Dom say something about I could go if I wanted and I gladly did before murmuring goodbye and leaving. After I was halfway through the hall I darted towards the room Dom had showed me and nearly slammed the door shut. It felt like eyes were on me as I walked into the center of the room, out of instinct, I checked the corners, bathroom, closet, windows, under the bed, and the door. I peeked through the door to find the hallway empty and dark I then shut the door before sparing another glance around the bedroom before finally settling down.

I slowly walked over towards the bed and let myself sink into the cushions I needed to leave first the in the morning. It's too dangerous to stay in one place for too long and I already stayed here too long. my eyes became heavy then finally closed as sleep started to pull me under, I just hoped I would have a dreamless sleep.

Dom's P.O.V

I could've have sworn I heard her say something before she nearly fell out her chair but as her eyes landed on ours they were only filled with confusion. I wondered what had her so confused I decided to let the subject drop as I stared down at the papers on my desk. I was now in my office after talking to Eric, Nicholas, and Chris about letting Annabel stay here.

Though we mentioned her name several times she never piped up once I could tell she wasn't paying attention as she was in her own thoughts. The guys were confused as to why she was almost covered in vampire stench I told them about her encounter but even before that she still smelled of vampire.

There was something about Annabel that I couldn't figure out, I knew she was running from someone and I knew it had to be a vampire. But other than that, she refused to tell me anything and that I didn't like for some reason.

I stood just as a high pitch screech sounded followed by a few rushing footsteps I quickly rushed down the hallway to find Chris and Nicholas rushing down the hall. I followed after them we found ourselves at Annabel's door.

Eric was already there and opened the door when we reached it as well, as soon as he stepped through  the door there was a sound a glass shattering followed by another scream.

We rushed in the room and I stood there shocked at the site before me, I couldn't believe my eyes.
