Lillian POV
First off, transfiguration. I was actually excited since it was one of the only classes James cared about. The other was defense against the dark arts, but everyone loves that class.

Making my way over to class, James came up to be from behind. He looked a little nervous from the way he hung his head slightly.

"Hey Lillian," he said. "You ready for class? Well...I mean of course you are...you love school and you're good at it."

"James," I said and pulled him into an empty classroom. We had plenty of time until class started. I saw his eyes open slightly. "I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier. I really am."

"I understand Lillian," he said. Now completely confident. "You expected me to say that. It's not a big deal."

I smiled up at him and for a second something clicked. It was like magic and not the kind we learned at school. It was something deeper and with more meaning. Ancient magic.

James must have felt it too because his wavered for a second and he started leaning toward me until the door burst open. And there stood James and Sirius. Both had mischievous smiles on their faces.

"Well, well, well," said Sirius like he was a scolding teacher.

"That's a pretty deep well," said James sarcastically with a smirk as he took a step towards the boys and crossed his arms. He was about one inch taller than Sirius and three taller than James.

"He has a sense of humor," I heard James not-so-whisper.

James let out a roar of laughter and starting talking to James and Sirius about pranks and spells. I ended up slipping out of the room before they left wanting to get a chance to talk to Lily Evans.

Everything was different at Hogwarts. The castle looked the same with its moving paintings and staircases, but it had a different atmosphere to it. Everyone seemed to be on the edge of something. But with Voldemort in power, everyone must be pretty anxious and scared for themselves and their family plus everyone else they care about.
