"Bye mum! Later, dad!" Albus Potter yelled out the window, waving goodbye to his parents and sinking back into his seat dreamily. "Hogwarts, here we come."
"Oh shut up Albus, you've been saying that for the past hour and a half." James, his older brother, groaned.
"Oh leave him alone James, it's only your third year anyway. Don't you remember the excitement of your first year ?" Said their cousin Rose while flipping through Hogwarts, a History. Rose was their cousin, Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron's daughter. Rose was pretty , average height, flat chested (for the most part) and had fiery red hair. This was her first year, as well as Albus'.
"No, I was asleep on the train because Albus had kept me up all night before with crying. " James retorted while closing his eyes and settling into a napping position. James was a rather handsome third year with bright green eyes. He brushed once of his loose, short chestnut curls of his face and turn on his back. Albus glared at James with equally light green eye, running his fingers through his combed charcoal colored hair."Explain to me again, how did you do your hair?" Rose smiled at him amused and turned a page in her book. Albus stared into space and remembered the tedious affair of waking up half an hour earlier and dealing with lots of tufting and hairspray.
"Remember that singer grandpa Aurthr told us about, Elvis Presley? It's like his hair, but a lot less dramatic. James, fancy anything from the cart?" (He could hear the wheels a little ways outside the train compartment.)
James grunted and pointed at his trunk. Albus collected some money and stepped out of their compartment into the Hall of the train. He looked around for the cart and found she still had to get through five compartments before she reached him, so he moved a touch closer to see what he wanted. But instead of seeing what he wanted, he saw the ground rushing towards him, and something -- er, someone tall, skinny, and muscular -- falling towards him. Albus fell on his back and grumbled, bending his legs up, hitting that other someone in the chin.
"Bloody hell, mind putting your knee down?" The girl who fell in front of him spoke. "Dreadfully sorry to fall on you --tripped when I closed my door-- and fell in front of you. And then when I got up, you hit me in the face! But now I suppose we are even, eh? So sorry, I'm rambling aren't I?" Albus stood and offered his hand.
"Only a little, hardly noticed. What'd you say your name was?" The girl smiled at him, flashing him her very white teeth which peeked out behind pink heart shaped lips.
"Andromeda, how bout you?"
He examined her quickly before giving her an answer. She had skin that reminded him of heavily burnt butterbeer, and straight golden hair that curled at her hips. Her eyes were black and strangely catched the light. The eyes were caged by long and curled eyelashes seemed out of place and grown up on her babyish face. Her nose was slightly bumped in the middle, and a little wider than most. What a sight he must've been. He was incredibly pale, skin and bones, and had shockingly green eyes.
"Albus, were you coming out for the trolley cart? Because she's almost here, what'll you get?" Albus didn't care that he was rambling a bit now too.
"Oh I'll have to get a closer look, shi-" Andromeda had taken a few steps to get a better look at the trolley while she tripped and fell over her feet , Albus grabbed her hand to steady her. She instantly stepped away, face blossoming red.
She smiled at him as the trolley rumbled even closer. "Thanks for that. What'll you be getting?" She grabbed cauldron cakes from the cart and looked around the cart some more. Albus was hardly paying attention, looking at her clothing. She wore a black shirt that was much too large for her, white leggings, and black slippers.
"Hello? Earth to Albus?" Andromeda looked at him with an amused smile.
"Sorry, must've stared off. Where's the trolley?" He looked around, a bit dazed for a reason he wasn't sure of.
