Mays's POV

Well we are clearly back from Texas. A lot of things happened.

A memory that both Lucas and I hadn't told Riley yet goes through my head...

"What are we Riley?" Lucas asks searching Riley's eyes for something.

"I already told you, Lucas. Your my brother. And I'm your sister." She says, I could see right through her, I could see the sadness inside her, the way I can feel her heart about to jump out of her chest just being around Lucas. She loves him. She's in love with him and she's sacrificing her happiness for me. How can she still have hope for us?

"Come on let's go." Zay, say leading Riley and Farkle to the house.

"What's going on?" He asks.

"I don't know." I say staring at the fire.

"I'm her brother now?"

"Apparently."

"You like me?" He asks.

"No."

"Maya, why didn't want me to ride at the rodeo?"

"Because I didn't want you to win and get all conceited." I reply.

"I don't think that's it."

"I don't think that's it." I mock.

"I don't talk like that. I just don't." He says.

"Why do you see my like that?"

"I don't see you like that. Can we just look at this fire. Please."

"Yes."

I move up and sit at the other side of the log and start staring at the fire.

"Stop." I say when I see him looking at me.

He looks back down at the fire and then looks at me again.

"Can we just stop? It's bad enough keeping this secret from Riley all this time." I say looking away.

"What secret?"

"You guys are so much alike. I thought you guys were just like brother and sister too."

"Why?"

"Your at your best when your just talking to each other. Looking out for each other. That's what I believed but I kept it a secret."

"And now the secrets out and I don't have to carry it around with me anymore."

"I just don't wanna have anymore secrets from her."

"So you don't make fun of me because you like me?" He asks getting up.

"I'm just gonna watch this fire."
