-Selena's POV-
Finally, I was back home. Wait, let me rephrase that. I was back at the living hell I was forced to stay in. Thanks mom.
I headed upstairs to my room, when I realized all my stuff was missing. "Derek." I mummbled under my breath.
"MOM!" I screamed while running down the stairs to complain to her. "Derek took all the stuff out of my room and hid it somewhere!"
"Honey..." She tried to calm me down.
"Oh my gosh... He must of put it in the garage!" I ran past her towards the garage.
"Selena!" She grabbed my shoulder, pulling me back. "George and I stayed home from work today to redue your room, and move our stuff to the basement. It isn't completely done, you can set up whatever posters or organize it however you want and finish unpacking the rest of your boxes.
I let out a long sigh of relief and smiled. "Awesome, thanks!" I ran back upstairs, walking in what used to be my parent's room. There was my bed, my computer desk, a couple shelves, an empty dresser, and a pile of unpacked boxes.
I was too lazy to do anything now, considering I got had seven hours of school, so I decided I would go downstairs to watch some TV. I took a seat on the couch, turning on the news. Honestly I didn't know what else to watch.
Unfortunately, Derek decided to come home early, with Logan.
He grabbed the remote which was placed next to me, changing the channel to hockey.
"Do you mind?" I asked in an irritated tone.
"A little, but you can stay here if you want." He sat back onto his chair, taking his attention to the TV.
Logan took a seat on the other side of the couch, making things a little awkward.
"You suck." I muttered while getting up from the couch, deciding to just go unpack now rather than later.

-Logan's POV-
"You think your sister's mad at me?" I asked Derek after Selena left.
"First off, STEP-sister. How many times do I have to tell you? Second of all, why would she be? And third of all, even if she was, why would she be?" He narrowed his eyes at me...he was either puzzled or maybe even irate since I was bringing her up again in an awkward conversation.
I shrugged. "I feel bad. She asked if I was okay because you were too scared-"
"I was not scared."
"Right.. but I was a little mean to her about it. I also blew her off."
He let out a small laugh before shaking his head in disapproval. "No reason to be so upset over it. Selena will get over it. Besides, she'll have to get used to it as long as she's living with me."
"Wait." I looked at Derek with a dumbfounded facial expression. "Why do you hate her anyways?" It's not like he had a legitament reason to hate her.
"Why do I hate her? Wow, this is a tough one. There's just so many reasons." He looked up at the ceiling as if he was really thinking of a million reasons.
"I'm serious."
"Fine. She's annoying. She doesn't even have to try she just is. She feels the need to take over everything just because she lives here now. She's so needy and it's annoying. She actually cares about her schoolwork and feels the need to butt into my life every chance she gets."
It took me a while to sink in what he just explained to me. I was hesitant to answer, but I eventally came up with a prerry decent response. "You're her new brother, I'm sure she feels the same way. She's a teenage girl put under a lot of pressure. Maybe she wants to be there for you, because she has no one there for herself."
Derek immediatly responsed by rolling his eyes, along with cracking an unsympathetic smile. "Oh please."
"You're so complicated, you know that?" I made sure he knew, though he probably already did.
"Man, what happened to you? You got all...sentimental."
"Yeah, I used to be inconsiderate, like you. But then one day, I woke up." A fake smile spread across my face.
He smirked to himself. "Oh you'll be crawling back, trust me.
I got up from the couch, making my way towards the kitchen. Ever since his dad got married, they had a lot more amazing, more pleasing food.
I opened the fridge, taking a took inside before hearing a familiar voice, startling.
"Oh yeah, just help yourself."
I jumped, turning around to see a sarcastic Selena with her arms crossed over her chest. "Oh...um. I was getting Derek a drink."
"I DIDN'T ASK FOR ONE THOUGH." Derek shouted from the other room. Figures.
Selena nodded while she glared at me. "You're pretty interesting."
"What's that suppose to mean. I'm not that interesting, unless you like interesting."
"Oh I do, but what I don't like is rude, ill-mannered, uncivil, impolite-"
I stopped her right there. "I get it..."
"No let me finish- offensive, tactless, impertinent jerks like someone I know, along with his best friend."
I laughed softly. "Looks like somebody has been studying their vocab!"
She managed to give me a small smile. "You know, you're not as bad as I thought you'd be."
"So I'm not a rude, ill-mannered, uncivil, impoite, offensive, tactless, impertinent, jerk like you just made me out to be?"
She shook her head. "Not entirely."
"Well I'm glad. I'm not a bad guy, alright? I'm sorry about being a rude, ill-mannered, uncivil-"
"Just get to the point!" She interrupted me.
"Sorry. What I'm trying to say is...I'm sorry. I was just in a bad mood this morning.
"Yeah, those tears in your eye gave it away."
Wow, this chick really knew how to push your buttons. No wonder why Derek got stressed out just by the thought of her, but it was still cute to me. Before I could say anything, Derek came in.
"Selena." He kindly recongnized her. "Would you be so kind as to leave my friend alone."
"Oh sure Derek!" She gave him a wide grin, which was obviously fake. "And would you be so kind as to fall in a well, and possibly drown."
"Sure thing, and while I do that, you should work on your comebacks. In your room. Away from us."
"Excuse me?"
"You're excused."
"This is my house just as much as it's yours. I would love it if you weren't so demanding and selfish." She spat at him while trying not to go out on an angry rage.
Derek looked like he wanted to punch her. "Listen, I don't know how things worked in your midget little apartment, but this is MY house. You're under MY roof. In fact, would you look at that. You're in MY kitchen. How long have I lived here? My whole life. How long have you lived here? Not even a week. Is it really your house?"
Selena scoffed. "My mother married your dad, moving me and my little sister in THIS house. I know it's a little difficult for your small brain to comprehend, but since we moved in here, it makes it my house as well."
"Well, you kids have fun now." I finally barged in. "I'll get going."
Then Derek and Selena started yelling at eachother, overlapping everything I was saying, so I did the easy thing to get out of this, and left.
God help them.
