"Hey Reed!" I yelled turning in circles trying to find him in the crowd of people around me.
A warm hand clasped mine and tugged me. I yelped earning a few glances my way. I looked away, blushing. The hand holding mine dragged me along till there was an opening by the docks.
"Listen Shortie, I told you not to lose me."
I looked up at the boy in front of me. He had an arrogant smile on his face and his dark brown hair was spiked up in the front.
"Hey! I didn't lose you... I just... couldn't... find you?" I tried.
The boy laughed at me.
A gust of wind blew through making me shiver a bit.
"Hunter! Reed! There you are!"
Our heads turned to see my mom coming toward us.
"Hey Mom!" I said as I waved.
"Mrs Winters," Reed nodded.
My mom looked at her watch, "It's getting late. We should probably get you guys home. Especially you Reed," she gave a knowing look to Reed. "We don't want your mom worrying now do we."
Reed smiled a bit, "If it's okay with you miss. My mom said it was alright if I slept over."
I gave a pleading look to my mom. She glanced at my face and smirked a bit, "Aren't you two getting a little too old for sleepovers?"
"Never!" Reed and I chorused.
My mom laughed at our reactions before speaking again, "I'm just kidding, Reed we'd love to have you over."
I squealed and grabbed his hand again, "Come on! Let's go home, I have a new toy I want to show you."
We set off towards our house.
Reed suddenly pulled his hand away from mine. Worried I looked at him. He was looking at the ground with his arms to his side as if he were angry.
Hesitantly I reached my arm forward, "Reed?"
Before I touched him his head shot up, "Race you home!"
My worry instantly disappeared as he ran down the side walk changing to anger, "Reed!" With that I took off running after him.
Alright so this idea just popped in my mind, so should I continue? Any feedback is great. Please vote and comment, hope you enjoyed!
