Going Home

Reed woke up first the next morning and looked over at Hunter.

"You're gonna miss me aren't you..." he spoke softly into the air.

Hunter started squirming underneath her comforter and Reed immediately pretended to sleep. He knew how much Hunter liked to be first at everything.

Hunter opened her eyes and saw Reed was still asleep and smirked. She immediately went into the bathroom and got her squirt gun and filled it with water. She ran back into the room and started spraying Reeds face.

Reed winced and put his hands out in front of his face to protect him.

"Morning sleepy head!" Hunter boasted, "Guess who woke up before you?"

Reed groaned, "Congratulations."

"Beat you down to breakfast!"

Reed smiled and watched her bound out of the room. Then the weight on his back became evident again and his smile dropped.

Finally, Reed emerged into the kitchen, "My mom actually wants me home early today, so I can't stay for breakfast Mrs. Winters."

The older woman standing at the stove turned around, "Are you sure? I can whip you up some pancakes to go!"

Reed smiled and gratefully declined. Hunter followed him out the door, "Are you sure you gotta leave so soon?"

Reed grimaced, "Yeah... sorry."

Hunter smiled, "That's okay! See you tomorrow!"

Hunter turned to go back inside and Reeds hand stopped her. HUnter turned back around, "Reed what are you-" She got cut off by him hugging her.

Hunter laughed and pryed him off of her, "You're just going to be gone a day, stop acting like you're never going to see this face again!" Hunter made a face and Reed laughed before his face shaping into a small frown.

"I'll see you, Hunter," Reed breathed.

Hunter responded with a wave and headed back inside. Reed stared at the door for a few more seconds before finally heading back home.

Reed opened the door slowly and crept into his house and up the stairs. "Reed is that you?" his mom yelled from the kitchen.

"Yeah, Mom.  Just going back up to my room to make sure I have everything."

"Okay, sweetheart. Did you say bye to Hunter?"

"Yeah, Mom..." Reed mumbled as he crept up the stairs. He finally got to his room and he fell onto the ground and cried, moving boxes surrounding him.

Would you believe it??? I posted another part! It's short, I know... but all my files were deleted, which included this story. So, I just rewrote this. The next chapter gets better, I swear.
