Raya's POV:
It's been fourteen months now. Fourteen months since I lost the remaining part of my family. I'm so glad that she's at peace now. Ade and I sorted their funerals ourselves, apparently father was around but now he's suddenly gone. Ade is taking everyday as much as he can, he's strong, he'll keep going for his lost siblings sake.We have finished school now and Ade has a job as police officer. Me on the other hand, I'm a progressing author, my two years away from everyone let me find a passion in writing. I mostly write poems and the odd novels here and there. I've been told that I need to finish a novel and publish it to get my name around. Romance is the most popular genre is it not? Should I write a love story?
Two knocks were heard on my door and I quickly stand up to go open it. It was Ade, he had just finished his shift at the station.
"I came here to tell you something..Raya" he said.
I usher him in and we sit on the couch. "What did you need to tell me?"
"Well there's something going on around the town. We can't figure out what's going on exactly..but there's multiple murders happening. The victims bodies are found in the same places Elizabeth used to hide her victims.."
"It's not Elizabeth..she's dead."
"I know that, it's likely someone who knew of her actions."
"It could be anyone, they put all the details on the Internet when she got arrested."
The room got colder and we both fell silent. Something was off but I decide it's nothing.
"I'm going to stay here tonight, if that's okay with you. I want to make sure you're safe"
"I'll be fine" I chuckle. "But you can stay how ever much you want."
"Thank you, guess what I heard today!" Ade said cheerfully.
"What did you hear?"
That...it's...going to be..starry tonight!"
"Oh! Let's see them!" I say with excitement and rush outside. I hear Ade chuckle and walk outside behind me.
"I remember the first time we looked at the stars."
"I do too" I blush and look at Ade. "We had our first kiss back then too"
"We did" he said and moves closer to me. He wraps an arm around my waist and pulls me close to him. I lean my head against his chest and we both look up to the starry sky. They look totally different than the ones we saw in the summer. These winter stars seem to be colder but still light up the sky.
"These stars remind me of myself" I say quietly.
"How so?"
"Cold but still hold light within"
"Also..cold but beautiful." He blushed and kissed my head.
We head back inside and head upstairs to sleep. Flash backs of my sister Elizabeth's death replayed in my dreams. I was used to them now, so they didn't matter.
The next morning:
On the news it said that five more people had been found dead. I knew these people. These were the rest of mine and Elizabeth's victims, one of which was Anna. For the rest of the day Ade and I barely did anything. He sat and did some paperwork, whilst I continued with my very unfinished novel.
Unknown's POV:
"How lovely! They still love the stars then? How cute~" I watch the pair cuddle up to each other."bless the poor souls~ if only they knew~"
