"Thanks for taking me home."
We stand outside my apartment door, me leaning against it, Nathan standing in front of me with his hands in his pockets.
"It's not a problem, I like hanging out with you, and I wanted to make sure you got home safe," he says. Nathan looks over his shoulder, bouncing a little on the balls of his feet.
I put my hand on the doorknob, biting my lip because I really don't want to open it.
"Hey, do you want to come in? You can wait for your cab in there. I can make you something to eat." The butterflies in my stomach are more like bats.
"Really? That'd be nice," he smiles.
I smile back as I open the door, praying that Hilary is sleeping. By the looks of the dark and empty apartment, but the quiet sound of someone snoring, she's sleeping.
"Come in," I whisper, closing the door behind him. I flick on the kitchen light, and walk to the fridge. I grab a few sodas, and a bag of chips. "Here," I toss him one soda, and walk over to the couch, turning on the tv. "Come sit beside me."
Nathan slowly walks to me, and flops down on the couch, letting out a sigh. "You have no idea how nice it is to sit down after four hours of singing and dancing."
I lean my head back against the back of the couch. "Well, to be honest, I just wanted to hang out with you some more," I whisper.
"Oh really?" Nathan sits up a bit, propping himself up on his elbow as he arches his eyebrow, killing me once again.
I decide to try flirting...and I'm a horrible flirt. I nibble my thumb nail. "Maybe."
Nathan moves in a little closer, brushing his finger on my cheek bone. He slowly leans in, pressing his forehead against mine. I take a deep breath, closing my eyes. The smell of Calvin Klein filling my nose. I slowly open my eyes, seeing his gorgeous greeny-blue eyes melt into mine. Just as I lean in, footsteps make me lean back.
"Oh, hey Hilary," I stutter, pulling back from Nathan to look at my friend. Her hair all messy.
"There you are. I mean, like I knew you were going out, I just didn't think it would last until morning...or the fact you'd be bringing him back. Dammit Taylor I am in pajamas!"
Nathan and I just look at each other and laugh as Hilary storms back in her room, slamming the door.
"Well, I should probably go, my can should be here by now. Thanks for the snacks."
Nathan stands up, stretching his arms above his head. I stand up and wrap my arms around his waist, hugging him. "Thanks for tonight, it was the best."
Nathan kisses my forehead, then heads for the door, looking back at me before closing it. I wait a minute before jumping up and down, giggling my ass off. I really think I'll be happy.
London, thank you for letting me start new memories.
