Ever since hanging up the phone call, I'd been sitting on my seat crying my eyes out. I was surrounded by all of my friends, even the makeup artists and the workers we'd hired for the wedding, everyone was trying to soothe the growing pain inside my stomach which made me clench my stomach to stop it from hurting so much. I was sniffling heavily and those tears that were once from joy had been dried up and covered with those of pure agony. It was unbelievable how much effect a phone call with one sentence of speech could have on me- on my life. This was my wedding day and now it was going to be my worst memory.

"Nina! Why are you crying? Please tell us!" Lucy had come running the minute I'd started weeping, she was standing next to me rubbing my shoulder hoping to achieve some sort of relieve for me even though she had no clue what was going on.

"Nina! What's wrong!?" Phoebe repeatedly asked me, while I could hear other people behind her gasping and chattering with confusion plastered on their faces.

I was devastated. I didn't know what to do- what to say, the devastation was preventing me from saying anything because I knew, the minute I say the something, everything was going to be different.

"Nina!! Please! Speak!" Lucy begged grabbing hold of both of my shoulders and gently shaking me as she looked deeply into my eyes hoping to get through to me somehow.

"I'm gonna call the number back" Britt quickly exclaimed breathing heavily in stress. She dialed the call back number quickly and pressed 'call' as it started ringing.

I gulped knowing that I should tell them, and as much as I was clinging on to my old-happy-life, I couldn't avoid the inevitable.

"Ian's..." I sighed, taking a deep breath in hope to fuel myself up enough to finish my sentence.

Britt quickly hung up, "What is it Nina?"

"Ian's mother" I let out a whimper, "She passed away" I managed to let out as I dropped my head into my palms and continued weeping. This time, I didn't feel even one hand on my shoulder trying to comfort me- everyone was frozen in shock and was left speechless.

"What?" I heard a quiet voice from across the room, too quiet to make out who it was from. I slowly lifted my head to see Ian standing there with a bouquet of roses lying on the floor where he had dropped them. His eyes were round and wide, his eyebrow narrowed in the middle and his mouth forming a small 'o' shape.

"Ian" I stood up quickly, "I'm so sorry you had to find out this way" I muttered running to him to give him a hug but before I could, he subtly moved away clearly wanting to avoid it.

"Where is she?" He asked harshly.

"In Central hospital , do you want to g-" I started my question before he rudely cut me off by walking away.

I looked back as my friends walked towards me and Britt started rubbing my shoulder, "He's gonna need some time to figure this out" She stated. Britt's words were always words of wisdom, and once again I knew she was right. This wasn't just any 'problem', it wasn't fighting over another girl or guy, or arguments about Claire, or our relationship, it was much bigger. It was Ian's mother, part of his life and no matter how much I wished it wouldn't effect him too much, I knew it was going to hit him hard, and all I could do in this moment is be there for him.

"He'll be at Central hospital, I think I better go there" I suggested to everyone, lifting my right hand to wipe away my tears before leaving the room and walking out of the church doors- my wedding doors.

When I arrived at the hospital, I received a few looks and glares from people surrounding me because of the gown I was wearing, but I didn't have time to care. I looked around in several different directions  trying to see if I could find Ian but there was no sign of him here, I knew he'd probably already found the room his mother was in. I quickly ran to the reception desk, and desperately asked the employee where I could find Mrs. Somerhalder.
